Still very old version from 2011 Rated 1 out of 5 stars

C´mon Google! Please just rollout the very simple improvements you made on Chrome version. I have suggest it years ago here on Mozilla Forum and you implemented it just on your browser.

What happened with "Don´t be evil"?

Work fine for me.

This injects a jQuery warning into every tab: “Importing XUL nodes into a content document is deprecated. This functionality may be removed soon.”. The 1.5.1 version (for Chrome) just got rid of the jQuery dependency, which apparently improved the memory footprint.

Grateful that Google makes it available, but would be happier with an update... Rated 3 out of 5 stars

The website breaking issue also seems to happen in my browser. The right click menu button might want to have an icon so as to be more recognizable.

Despite these this is absolutely a great service.

But a friendly reminder is don't upload your own private snesitive photos onto Google to avoid unnecessary troubles.

Nice feature, but breaks websites Rated 2 out of 5 stars

I didn't notice other reviewers saying that this extension breaks websites, reduces Firefox' CSS compatibility, etc, but today, I found a website that didn't seem to work in Firefox (various pages on, and it turns out that this extension was to blame. An extension that adds a context menu item to search by image should not affect page rendering at all. This extension clearly has serious issues.

Fortunately, those issues affect very few pages out there, but it makes those rare occasions difficult to troubleshoot.

Useful, but breaks websites Rated 2 out of 5 stars

I used it since a long time.
BUT it breaks websites.
With the addon, the website is empty.

Очень хорошее дополнение, но нет иконки поиска из контекстного меню.

Agree with users, we need an image in the context menu allowing us to easily identify "search image on google option" Rated 1 out of 5 stars

Everything works perfectly; however tineye & this app in chrome show an image next to the option in the right click context menu which allows for instant location & clicking. Without that it takes a really long time to search for the option & click it (like almost a second) which is a long time when you do this often.

Thank you for your feedback. Unfortunately, this is a limitation with the Firefox browser, which does not allow an extension to have an icon beside its option on the right click context menu.

Useful and convenient Rated 5 out of 5 stars

I use Google Images all the time, so this is much easier than opening a new tab, going to the website, and dragging the image into the box.

The options are noticeably sparse, however. I would like to be able to see the camera icon in the context menu, like you can do with TinEye, so that I can instantly find the "Search with Google Images" button.

Works as advertised, made by the official source.

The user who claims this addon taxes the cpu is, well, crazy. It's just a simple extension that adds a command to the context menu (but then who knows how linux affects the firefox process?). And another user who said it breaks sites must have had some other conflict completely unrelated to this extension.

Constantly taxes my CPU Rated 1 out of 5 stars

I went through my addons one by one until I found the culprit: Search By Image (by Google). My Firefox idles at 4% CPU and spikes about once a second to 30% CPU. This makes my CPU fan constantly whine. I disabled it and it idles at 0% to 0.7% CPU utilization. This addon is junk.
