If you actually look at it, the date is in chronological order. :-) look at the first number, not the overall date.

:-) my dad has a server on our home network that holds nothing but all of the picture he has taken with his digital camera. He labels his as follows:

Year-Month-Day
=
2012-07-22

It helps to keep them in proper chronological order. So, you could ask the developer to make it save the date for the files in that format. Would make it a lot easier to look for something specific if you know the correct date and its easier to find.
