Excellent Rated 5 out of 5 stars
I'm using Redirector to modify Piriform software's update process to go directly to the download links. Very handy! Originally, I included my example links to show how it was done, but AMO doesn't allow links in reviews...
I noticed a couple of instances in the Help where URL is written url. This is a very minor nitpick though...
Downgrade Rated 1 out of 5 stars
Lot worse, what's the use delete usefull features to not new ones? What's the problem to let it work in about:pages? More than 90% of my redirects in 2.X was about:reader now NONE work, even setting one by one again. This review is for a previous version of the add-on (3.0.4).
Sorry about that. I was forced to update Redirector to make it work with the new multiprocess firefox, and the easiest way to do that was to use the new webextensions api that Firefox is creating. That doesn't allow me to redirect to about: pages.
Redirector Can Not Set Rated 2 out of 5 stars
I Can't Set A Site for Redirect. Why?
New Redirect Setting doesn't work on firefox 44.06
Please fix it
I just tested on 44 and it worked for me. Are you running in private mode?
A great add-on Rated 5 out of 5 stars
I was looking for a productivity tool like this for days and now very easily redirect social networking site to a more productive website and hence in a way making me realize that I am not supposed land on the website. Great work!!This review is for a previous version of the add-on (3.0.4).
More than expected Rated 5 out of 5 stars
I was searching a long time for an addon that replaces some text in some url.
I thankfully found this addon.
It gives me more features than I expected:
I'm using it for rewrite bitbucket URLs so that whitespaces are ignored on a code diff.
It would also be usefull for github urls.
Inject '?w=1' in the urls.
Powerful, light-weight, practical (Everything you could want in an add-on!) Rated 5 out of 5 stars
This addon is a rare breed; one that follows all the major design principles of what make an app great!
It doesn't sacrifice power for user-interface, yet has a UI that's easy to use. It doesn't have a high overhead, and browser performance isn't negatively affected. And it performs a function that is useful for everyone. (Redirect bing to google for windows users; though that's a native firefox feature. Redirect amazon to smile.amazon, as two examples).
My chrome friends are seriously lacking the power of this add-on :) (you might consider making a version for chrome, though I understand you're busy working on the mobile version already)
Edit: Whole-heartedly agree with Achal Dave's review. Exporting filters would be great! I could contribute that myself if it were on Github :)
Thanks, glad you like the extension. Your Chrome friends can absolutely enjoy this extension, it's available for both Chrome and Opera. Chrome is at https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/redirector/ocgpenflpmgnfapjedencafcfakcekcd
Excellent productivity tool Rated 5 out of 5 stars
This is exceptionally useful when you need to focus on a task and want to prevent your monkey brain from distracting you with Reddit or other time sinks. This review is for a previous version of the add-on (3.0.4).
Neat interface, works very well Rated 5 out of 5 stars
Very much liked the helpful interface that matches against the example url and provides an easy way to debug my redirects. Thanks! Would be very neat if you could export an add-on for a given set of redirects (to share with others), but that's probably not a feature that's high priority.
Edit: It would also be nice if the source were on Github or similar!
Glad you like the extension. I'm probably never going to export an addon for a given set of redirects, but you can always export those to a redirector.json file and just tell people to install Redirector and import the redirects.
As for the source, it is on github at https://github.com/einaregilsson/Redirector
Very good Rated 4 out of 5 stars
Works very well. I was looking for some minutes to find where to set up the redirects. A Firefox preferences button in the Addon manager is really needed! This review is for a previous version of the add-on (3.0.4).
Love the extension, but please change the GUI! Rated 5 out of 5 stars
I really enjoy this extension, and functionally, I can't think of anything else that could improve it. The GUI was recently changed from having only the settings page and a shortcut, to having a button for easy access. It now takes me three clicks to enable/disable it, and the hotkey no longer works. Could you please PLEASE copy the design from the "Referer control" extension? It has 1-click enable/disable, easy setting panel and no popup controls, all from one button. This review is for a previous version of the add-on (3.0.4).
Hi. I'll try to add the hotkey back in in the next version, but I'm trying to make this extension work identically across three browsers now, so that limits me a bit. But I'll probably do a small update in a few weeks, and then I'll see what I can do.
Android version pointless Rated 1 out of 5 stars
There are no settings for the android version, and as such it is a completely pointless installThis review is for a previous version of the add-on (3.0.4).
Just what I wanted and working! Rated 5 out of 5 stars
Great add on but besides button, configuration should be accessible from about:config
Thank you very much.
No config button Rated 5 out of 5 stars
I used this add-on for a long time and it worked perfectly, but after the last update(s? no clue) it seems now the configuration button is not there so the add-on is utterly useless.
Even with the config-link, which the developer provided:
That page is buggy and it's not possible to configure.
Also, I don't have any button in the toolbar any more, and also can not add one.
So, until a fix is up, not usable.
Otherwise, the add-on always was very useful so thank you a lot for creating it!
EDIT * 06.11.2015 *:
Answer at the developers (Einar Egilsson) comment from 06.11.2015:
Hello sir, thank you very much that you wrote so quickly.
I have just now thought of the reason on why the issue might be happening, it seems that it is only happening when the private mode is active. Running FF 42.0 right now.
A screenshot of the (broken) configuration page can be seen here:
And no, there is absolutely no button of the AddOn in customizing toolbar menu while the private browsing mode is activated.
When you go to customize your toolbar, do you not see any toolbar button with the new Redirector icon?
And what is not working for you in the new config page?
Good extension, but would like old feature returned Rated 4 out of 5 stars
Been using this for years and have somewhat gotten the hang of configuring it for those annoying page redirects that I sometimes run into. Keep up the good work!
But is there a chance of adding back the "options button" back into the Extensions -> Add-ons Manager list?
This newer version has removed it. Having to access the Redirector rule list through yet another icon somewhere on the browser's main toolbar only clutters it up some more.
Hi. I'm using the AddOn SDK now, and as far as I can see I can't really make the options button take you to the Redirects page, only use it to create some about:config preferences. I'm hoping when the new WebExtensions API is ready I can put it back in. In the meantime it's easiest for you to go to resource://redirector-at-einaregilsson-dot-com/redirector.html and just add a plain old bookmark to it.
Best solution to improve/fix/skip url Rated 5 out of 5 stars
I use this extension a long time and I have nothing to complain, I recommend to everyone. And this new UI only improved what was already good. Thank you. This review is for a previous version of the add-on (3.0.4).

Works for me so far. Entire URL replacement, also when clicking on links or bookmarks. This review is for a previous version of the add-on (2.9.3).
Works perfectly! Rated 5 out of 5 stars
I've used this extension for a long time, and it's great! It does what it says, and it is very quick.
P.S. I was stupid: the extension was accidentally disabled, probably because I pressed alt-R at some point without noticing it. It might be a good idea to have a large red text "currently disabled" on the configuration page (I didn't have the redirector icon on my add-on bar, so I never saw it).
Sounds like a good idea, might add it at some point :)
Amazing extension! Rated 5 out of 5 stars
A Hidden Gem!
Amazing extension. Great user interface (recently updated! nice!). Unlimited different uses.
No other extension does anything like this.
Works great with Firefox 38.0.5. Hopefully it will continue to work perfectly with future releases.
