Amazing Differents In Memory Use Rated 5 out of 5 stars
I've been using Ramback for well over a year now, and before I used it I kept having to deal with issues of my RAM being over used. I even upgraded my RAM from 4GB to 8GB of RAM, and Firefox was still eating it like it was some kinda of Google Chrome birthday buffet. After Installing Ramback, things changed dramatically. Now FireFox Runs great, and my PC Ram usage barely even reaches half of what I have now. This user has a previous review of this add-on.
WOw... Rated 5 out of 5 stars
I am not an advanced CP user. I do consider myself a little bit better than many though. I was having problems with High memory useage while using Firefox as well as High CPU and DIsk reaching as high as 98%. Before trying "Ramback" I opened up a window to view my processes and performance to see if a difference was made from there that was noticeable. A Differeance was made.....An Incredible one for me. Upon installing "Ramback" the useage went down. But not only the memory, which is a high of 50% now instead of 80-95%. MY CPU runs no higher than 3% and Disk 0-1%. The CPU load reaductiona achieved to me. This old laptop is now running like a new machine again. Thanks to this add on and whatever it did and however it achieved it. I will let the hows be left to the developer.
Doesn't seem to work for me Rated 3 out of 5 stars
Task Manager shows consistently 1,300 MB and greater. Clear Caches does not release any memory.
You Can't Be Too Clean So RAMBack Rated 3 out of 5 stars
This addon would be great, but it has one downfall. There is no way to tell if it has actually cleared anything. There should be some popup that appears (with a setting for how long it shows on the screen) to make it more user friendly.
Dramatically reduces cache Rated 5 out of 5 stars
All those other cache clearing add-ons at best have a negligible effect - this considerably reduces cache immediately.
It's especially helpful if a window with many tabs is always open. I use Google Books as reference, which consumes a huge amount of memory (over 1.6GB). When my referencing is finished for the day I hit Clear Caches and around 45% of memory is reclaimed - I can then slum it on the web with a smooth-functioning browser.
Tools > Clear Caches
how do you use this thing? Rated 1 out of 5 stars
there seems to be no interface and it doesnt make any difference in my system that is worth while. that along with the terible lack of information involving how it works or what kind of results to expect make this extension pretty much worthless.
RAMBack works just great ! Rated 5 out of 5 stars
Before I have installed RAMBack, I had often hangs of Firefox due to big RAM consumption (approx. 500 MB). After RAMBack installation, now Firefox take only 280 MB and works fluently! :-)
Works. Not very well documented, though Rated 4 out of 5 stars
It does what it claims to.
Why the developer didn't simply add "Go to Tools and then click on Clear Caches" to the About this Add-on section of the add-on page is beyond me. Seems like most of the negative reviews are from people that didn't know where to look and it could all be made better with that simple note.
RAMBack DOES NOT WORK! Rated 1 out of 5 stars
And if you read some of the reviews, the developer is pretty rude, as well.
Too bad you can't give it 'No Stars' because that's what it deserves! In fact, I have a feeling the memory usage will go down a good amount once I remove it. =/

Освобождает около 8% используемой Firefox'ом памяти Rated 1 out of 5 stars
Can not find where to use Rated 1 out of 5 stars

Simply does not work. Rated 1 out of 5 stars
I wanted to like this plugin, I really did. Everyone except for the Firefox development team is aware of the horrible memory leaks in Firefox, so the idea of a quick fix button was great.
Except, you know, the button doesn't do anything at all.
Maybe it's because I'm on a Mac, but watching the memory usage of Firefox in Activity Monitor shows little to no change when using Ramback. I tried letting it sit, I tried pressing the button... alas, nothing worked.
Well, that's not true. Closing Firefox worked. And it's possible that deleting Firefox and going with a different browser would work too, but I digress...
In any case, good idea, poor execution.
Works! Rated 5 out of 5 stars
Use the menu bar, tools->clear caches. See a huge drop in RAM usage. Thank you for this add-on.
Fixed Firefox consuming gigabytes of RAM Rated 5 out of 5 stars
Firefox would consume 2 gigabytes or more of RAM before I found this fantastic add on. Firefox would slow down to a crawl if I were on a video page and I'd watch the RAM usage climb.
RAM would be used up regardless of whether I was using HTML5 media player or Flash to watch videos. It was absolutely terrible dealing with Firefox slowing down to a snails pace.
Now, I have 4-5 tabs open and watching a youtube video. RAM usage is under 360k although I saw it go as high as 402k before it dropped to around 360k again.
Testing still going well. I watched a long video and noticed RAM climb to 500k. Ten seconds after closing the Firefox tab, RAM went back down to 360k. Before using RAMBack, I had to totally close Firefox, wait nearly a minute before RAM was released. Thank you RAMBack for making my day!
Very helpful Rated 5 out of 5 stars
Having almost given up using Firefox because of increased RAM use since v42 taxing/overheating my laptop, I am very pleased with RAMBack for reducing per-tab use from over 100M per tab down now to about 60M per tab. Good work!
