Why was PubMed (simple) Gucker created?
Having created a well running pubmed webapplication which checks for availability of OA/hybridaccess Journals or such under the Deutsche Nationallizenz Privat, I had constructed an extended version which looks into some publishers archives directly to run searches there.
I need a means to check whether the results form these 3rd parties' sites could match known pubmed records and decided to funnel the TITLE with this item into my pubmed-api-engine.
The basic technology of this GUCKERs family of marked-text-to-webressource linkers has been set up 1 month ago and is now applied to this specific question.
What's next for PubMed (simple) Gucker
Less important is the concrete add-on shown here but whats going on at the targeted site www.kidney.de.
It will take a while to setup databases, but I favor a principle to do about 10 similar searches on 10 major publishers and a pubmed search, which would negotiate those journals which were already covered.
I will also make a GUCKER applicable to my marvellous Metatextbook-of-Medicine collection of free medical review papers so you can check if I have some knowledge to you concerning your marked text phrase.
