does one page only Rated 2 out of 5 stars

This would be a super useful extension, but it creates only a one-page PDF for me from the beginning of the webpage. All downstream infos are lost. Anyone else having the same problem?

Hi,

Is there anybody else whose computer was infected after installing this? My computer is new and had never problems until installing this add on. I received a malware detection symbol.

Mozilla started to be weird and instantly I was forwarded to another web page trying to scan my computer!!

It works.... sometimes. It's great for saving a file for offline viewing. But sometimes, at random, the file will save as an EXE file. When I execute it, it does nothing. Then I have to go back and save it again.

Kind of a pain...

This tool is good to save pages as PDF file. But does not support yet to the links in the web pages unless where text is typed with complete URL.

This would be perfect if there was a hotkey command. I like to hide my File menu, but needing to click the PrintPDF link is the only reason I have to keep the thing visible.

I've been looking for something like this! Light, fast and simple. If I could give it more than 5 stars, I would!

An Add-On that does the job right! Rated 4 out of 5 stars

This Add-On works good. Compare to "PDF Download" (Nitro PDF Software), this add-on processes the PDF local and not by using an external server. It's fast and does the job right as it should be.

This one works better now than the primo pdf which stopped working in Firefox 3.5.

Works Like a Charm Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Awesome... I had to remember to type .pdf in the name, even though the save as dialog box indicates the type is pdf. Other than that - worked perfectly. LOVE IT!

The problem with all these soft-printer-style PDF creators is they don’t maintain the clickable links — my guess is they can’t because of how printing works. Eg if a word is clickable in HTML, the PDF will show it as blue/underlined but it will not be clickable any more — it’s flattened. This is crucial for research and archiving. Unfortunately, the only way to get this to work is the special plugin for IE that comes with Acrobat Pro (the one that creates a PDF toolbar in IE, not the PDF printer), although even that often messes up the layout. I have been looking for years (literally) for a way to do this in Firefox. I can’t believe that Adobe or someone else hasn’t done this for Firefox yet. Other archiving methods tend to have other important problems (eg add-ons like Scrapbook, Zotero, MAF, unMHT etc). It would also be great if an archiving method saved the original URL, title and access date as metadata (Savewithurl and Saveuri almost do that but not quite). We live in hope!

overlay.js modifications Rated 4 out of 5 stars

To find overlay.js you have to search for printpdf.jar in your document and settings folder.
After that you can extract the jar file and modify overlay.js.
I think that these modifications (delete or insert header and footer,...) should be implemented in the add-on options.

It sounds like all the problems have been figured out and I would like to try PrintPDF 0.75.
BUT, there is NO working download link! Therefore I have to give minimum stars to the Mozilla Add-ons website.

To remove header/footer (and add some other settings) open the jar file and find overlay.js. Add these lines

// Mod
printSettings.footerStrCenter = '';
printSettings.footerStrLeft = '';
printSettings.footerStrRight = '';
printSettings.headerStrCenter = '';
printSettings.headerStrLeft = '';
printSettings.headerStrRight = '';
printSettings.printBGColors = true;
printSettings.printBGImages = true;
printSettings.printInColor = true;
printSettings.shrinkToFit = true;
printSettings.paperSizeType = nsIPrintSettings.kPaperSizeDefined;
printSettings.paperSizeUnit = nsIPrintSettings.kPaperSizeMillimeters;
printSettings.paperWidth = 210;
printSettings.paperHeight = 297;
// End Mod

The filesize is twice as big as the "print-to-pdf" printer drivers I've been using but the quality is just as good.

It would be nice if I could select this by right-clicking on the page instead of having to go to the File menu.
