Best plugin ever Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Best plugin ever. Makes Firefox by default the best browser by turning it Vim-based. EVERYTHING becomes programmable!

Works on FF15.

Keep it alive Rated 5 out of 5 stars

I love Pentadactyl, but it seems it couldn't be used under Mozilla Firefox 15.0 and more. Please develop it, so we can do so

I used it alot before I switched to Chrome. As I am back to firefox, this was the first addon I installed. I am really glad that it kept getting maintained! It really makes me a happy firefox user!

This add-on is the very reason which keeps me using firefox. It makes firefox a brand new web browser, if you're addict to vim-like manipulation, this add-on is something you cannot miss.

The one add-on that will keep me using Firefox forever. Pentadactyl makes the browser a powerful and elegant utility, just like vim!

If you're already a fan of emacs or vi... Or if, in some other manner, you've discovered freedom from the mouse, then pentadactyl is your friend...

What a great addon Rated 5 out of 5 stars

It's so wonderful, this world of vim. I love using it wherever I go. I can't live without it - it's like it was born into my natural fingers. Thank you so much to the hard-working developers to make Firefox become something transcendent.

Besides it being an awesome addon, it helps me reduce usage of the mouse in an otherwise-mouse driven web. This reduces the pains I haven't been able to alleviate via alternatives. Using the keyboard is far more ergonomic and productive to me.

Best FF add-on ever! Rated 5 out of 5 stars

It's the most wonderful FF add-on I've ever used but please please update it for FF 14 by solving the bug http://code.google.com/p/dactyl/issues/detail?id=816 in the production version and not just in the nightly. Thank you.

Wow, it's just a wonderful work saver. The most useful features of VIM, in a browser, and that's just for starters.

If you like vim bindings, then this is definitely a requirement for your Firefox.

I recently started getting pain in my wrist from using a mouse so much, and as I already use Vim I decided to try out Pentadactyl. It took a little getting used to, but now I love it. I almost never touch my mouse while using Firefox anymore. The only bad thing about the addon is that it can break some websites, though the vast majority work perfectly! After using Pentadactyl for a couple of days I no longer have wrist pain. Thanks for fixing my wrist, Pentadactyl!

remove GUI you don't really use Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Awesome addon, gives you possibility to remove many GUI elements that you don't really use (more on manpage).
Must have for people familiar with shell/vim/emacs or keyboard.
Also let's you map your own key bindings to just about anything browser related.

Best addon ever!

What once awakened my love of the computer was the day my mouse broke, and I needed to learn to use a computer without one. Twenty years later, at a time when every webpage and program expects you to use a mouse to do everything, this plugin is a breath of fresh air.

As a developer by day, the best tools in my kit by far are the console (in my case, PowerShell), GVim, and Firefox + Pentadactyl. I've had a love/hate relationship with FF over the years, but this plugin is THE REASON why I continue to use it. In addition to making repetitive browsing easier (I remember the hint numbers for several elements on frequently-browsed websites), I find that I can browse the web with far greater ease using this plugin with infrequent mouse usage. The learning curve is steep, but for vim users it shouldn't be long before you pick it up.

Among my favorite features is the use of a third-party text editor for compositing (CTRL+i in a text field or textarea), a feature that is sorely lacking in other browsers. Performance seems to lag somewhat (even running FF, cache, and profiles on ramdisk), but it easily pays for itself with productivity.
