Great Idea. Needs More Work. Rated 2 out of 5 stars

Worked on some add-ons, and completely ruined others.

I have two pcs with the same versions of Firefox, and the same add-ons. I exported the settings of PC1, and imported them in PC2. Some add-ons like "Save images to folder" copied the settings perfectly, but others, like "Smartest Bokkmark Bar," did not, and had some of it's settings randomly changed. e.g. My bookmarks bar was moved to the very top, though that setting wasn't chosen in either of the pcs to begin with. Also, in PC1, I had my "SimilarSites" toolbar unchecked so it wouldn't take up space at the top of my screen. After importing on PC2, it was now visible, and I had to get rid of it. Those are just two examples of many possible examples.
Now I'm manually comparing all add-on settings on both pcs to see what else got messed up because I thought I backed up my preferences on PC2 before doing this, but I don't see them saved anywhere. This blows. It's gonna take a lot of time to check everything.

edited out. Meant to review CLEO.

I don't believe you understand what this extension does. It does not export add-ons, but only add-on *preferences*. And then, only preferences that are declared or stored in a particular way.

How did you "manually select" the profile folder? Nowhere in OPIE is there a place to do that.

If you would like help understanding what OPIE does, please post in my support forum (http://www.customsoftwareconsult.com/phpBB2/index.php)

Greatly work on Firefox 9.01 Rated 5 out of 5 stars

I use this add-on when I install it to another firefox's my profiles.
If I exclude that slow update routine,I can say this is very good.

maybe incompatible with 10.02.

bit of confusion happening here...

just downloaded opie/febe/cleo...
all say they are compatible until 3.7a1pre...
yet opie does not install due to incompatibility...
after checking install.rdf... opie's maxversion is 3.1b3...

i also checked the install.rdf for febe and cleo... febe is maxV 3.7a1pre... while cleo is 3.5.*... yet it, unlike opie, will install after the compatibility check...

It used to work well on my computer, but now after automatic update of the addons, it seems cannot recognise my extensions. Which cannot export any of my preferences...
if there's no bug for this, I still like it. But I'm hoping it can recognise ALL my extension preferences. :P

This add-on backups the very most options of your add-ons in Firefox, give me peace on migrations after HDD formats, new PC's, etc.Only one "but". Not for "ALL" of my extensions :-(

It would be nice if OPIE would recognize global extensions! I use multiple profiles. Because of this I install all my standard extensions globally. I was trying to use OPIE to back up some preferences but it only recognized extensions that where installed locally to that profile

Great extension.
it gives me the peace of mind that I can "copy this Firefox install to another drive" if / when necessary, without losing too much of my "little-somethings" that make FireFox so much more useful than "the other browser".
