Please, Please, Please support .aiff sounds so this can be used on Mac OS X without converting existing system sounds.

Feel difficult

As far as I know, the underlaying nsISound interface only supports WAV files now. That's a reason why current sound add-ons only support WAVs.
To add other types available would be difficult to author (me, yes).
A compromise solution to your case, next version I'll try supporting system sounds first, like Navigational Sounds does (https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/1030).

This is by far the best audio addon for Firefox! The customization features are unmatched. I used to use multiple addons to get sounds, and they were limited to just a few options. This addon is all you need. I'm amazed at the selections available. Great work! And thanks!

Works great -- just can't configure custom sounds to play Mac system AIFFs Rated 4 out of 5 stars

Just installed this (after determining that PopupSound doesn't work on FF 3 as it's advertised to), but so far it's working quite well.

The only issue I've had so far is that when trying to configure a custom sound for popup blocking, I wasn't able to select any of the Mac OS system sounds (/System/Library/Sounds/*.aiff). I figured this was probably due to AIFF files not being supported, but there was no help giving the supported file formats. I looked back at the extension description on this site, though, and saw that it only mentioned WAV files, so after copying over the \Windows\Media folder from an XP system to my Mac and configuring Noise to use the 'Windows XP Pop-up Blocked.wav' file, I was in hog heaven.

Sounds (are) good! Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Love this one! Works well, adds a lot of "personality" without using a lot of resources. Excellent, thank you!

Finally! Rated 3 out of 5 stars

Something to replace Sound Extension (which had been borked of late).
If I could get an event for Navigation sound, that would be the cake (menu, toolbar... navigation).
Thanks!

Good in Windows Rated 4 out of 5 stars

Good idea and very well executed. The list of suggested events is good, but allowing for custom events (granted, if you know what you're doing) is even better. A couple of issues I found:
1) Having more bundled sounds may be a good idea, because not everyone will go through the trouble of locating local sound files for events.
2) Did not work in Mac. Enabled events did not show the "check" next to them in the list, and the events did not trigger the sound.
Import/Export is great too. Good work.

Thank you very much Jose.

With Jose's big help, the problem on Mac has been solved (in fact it's my mistake) in mid September. And now I'm waiting for translations and plan to nominate this addon to public when next version is ready.

Works great. Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Tried several of the features and they worked perfectly. Having migrated over from Maxthon I missed the solid "click" that you get when navigating links in a page. This reproduces that. Thanks.

I did not test it actually, but I give 5 stars just because somebody made it possible. For a long time I was missing such a feature, silently hoping that someone will develop an addon like this. So it is'nt really important that there are missing sounds. This addon will help both, developers and users. It is an important step towards a better Firefox.
Thank you.

Very Helpful Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Sound events can be very useful to persons with various visual impairments. Up until now, the only option that I'm aware of is Popup Sounds which is a good extension but it only allows for 3 specific sound events.

Soundsnap.com has thousands of free sound samples that you could use and offer in Noise or at least direct Noise users to it.

This is a great add-on and I appreciate the time and work that you put into it.

Need for restarting might be a problem

Thank you for your interest in this extension.
Normally it's not necessary to restart Firefox to apply settings. so I'm afraid that is a bug (but I can't reproduce it)

And about a supporting forum, currently I choose google groups to help it. And manage FAQ or HOW TO on a homepageURL by myself. Not sure this is a good way. If everyone has any ideas, please feel free mail me or something, thanks!

I love short, sharp dedicated sound notifications. I have hundreds of very short sounds, I'm trying it. I know, I should only comment after having tested but, in this case, it can only be fine, obviously.

it would have been nice if it came pre installed with sounds,at the moment it's a very good idea but most people have not the time to go searching for sounds,so for the moment i have uninstalled it.
