Works as advertised, and is exactly what I was looking for. Thanks for the work :) This is now added to my favorites to be installed on all my computers.

Could you add an option that the address bar is focused initially, as in the default blank new tab page?

I have firefox 3.5.5. I have tried everything to get this addon to work.. its always worked for me in the past. I reformated computer with windows 7 is only thing i can think of why its not working.. and i dont have any other tab addons or anything like that interfering with it. Hope it works soon.

Excellent addon. I just don't get why FF or IE don't come with an option like this. Doesn't it make sense that if you have google as your homepage you would also want to have it in a new tab?
BTW for people wanting to open new links in a new tab, just click the link with your middle mouse button.

Talk about a no brainer. Why the hell Mozilla never included this into Firefox is beyond me.

may need unsintalls from troubling search engine Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Works great.

Hag some problems getting it working. This is however NOT a problem in the add on but in my case it was a browser search engine called "Fast browser search" that was installed on my PC with some other tool.

After removing this one this add on worked as expected

Uninstall the troubling search engine via Windows
then remove the search engine from your browser using the select search engine button at the right form the address bar and click "Manage search engines" from the drop down list

It doesn't work, I still get the original display when I click "open new tab".......Why??!..I'm using firefox 3.5, with several other addons...could they affect this ones operation?...

So simple. So genius. Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Excellent. I wonder why it's not included.

I got the idea from one of these reviews that 'command+click to open link in new tab' is overrun by new tab homepage. It is not in my experience. ctrl+T opens new tab homepage, while command+click opens new tab whatever-link-you-clicked-on.

Very good add-on. As a programmer myself I can say it works well. Does exactly what it says on the tin. Works fine with FF 3.5.2, I have one request, could it be updated to allow the option for any link to be loaded in a new tab - i.e. when you click on a link from google search results and want to keep those search results preserved in a its original tab.

Some web sites try to stop you from exiting their website via the browser back button so the a website loaded in a new tab from google search results will just need to be closed via the 'close tab button' to return to google.

I will be sending you a contribution for this add-on, because FF developers failed miserably to add a simple function as this to their browser should take only seconds to update to any new versions they launch. - (copy and paste and renaming variables, classes and location). I think others who find it useful could send a little something too. Good work

I agree with Rocsen and User Rude, it should be included, but it is extremely useful especially since my homepage is google. Google is pretty much what i want a new tab for anyway.

yeah this should be already included into FF. What installation file of FF do i alter so i do not have to install an add on? NO one seems to know and I can not find it.

Nice addon. Just one problem. It resets everything when you close firefox and reopen it so that your tabs don't get restored. Have to disable til that gets fixed.
