Exactly the Aid I Wanted Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Using too much mouse a day some times cause some tiny ache in my forefinger, and this kind of tool was in my wish-list for quite some time. I thought it may not be that easy to implement mouseless browsing due to some many clickable spots inside a web page, this addon solves this problem brilliantly. Thumps up!

Great Plugin.

It will be used together with our open-source speechrecognition program simon (http://www.simon-listens.org) to surf the internet only with numbers. Works great!

Great add-on, which works on tabs, links, text boxes and lots more. As a person that strongly favours keyboard shortcuts over using the mouse, I had been keeping an eye open for an add-on like this until I came across it just last week (week beginning 06/04/2009)! My only criticism is that it does not work for dialog boxes.

Advice to users: in "General Options", select "show ids only on demand", so that pages with a large quantity of links etc. do not take so long to load. Often you want to read some of the content before clicking a link anyway. Furthermore, when typing in the codes, you must be very rapid, otherwise it might confuse, for example, "12" with "1"...

might use Quick Find instead Rated 2 out of 5 stars

I think that this add–on is ok, but you should also know that Firefox has shortcuts to links by the quick "links only" search. Just press apostrophe ( ' ) and type in the first letter or two in the links text (or name) and Firefox focuses them. ( This still does not work on inputs, so I always search for a label or text sthraight before them and press good old tab ;)

Fantastic idea, I wish every program (office, corel, TexnicCenter,... PLEASE!) came with numbers instead of loads of unmemorizable short-cuts. Makes my life much easier! Side remark: when opening links in new tab the focus on the originating page might change. Furthermore: in a series of basically the same page (series of fotos in an online magazin, webmail, etc.) the numbers for the same function, e.g., "next" change. Maybe it would be possible to identify parts of pages that are the same as the last one and to assign the same number to them?

I dunno about what those lazy people are talking about it taking too long to type in a few numbers to go to a link. Just use the numpad, and it takes half a second to put in a three digit number.

Typeaheadfind is so much better Rated 1 out of 5 stars

Enable typeaheadfind, by typing about:config in your address bar, ignore the silly warning, filter by typing in the search bar typeah then select startlinks..make that false, links only ..make that true. It will do everything this one does and so much easier.

One of the tools that I install any time I have a fresh installation of FireFox.

Ignore the negative reviews that I saw on the first page, the only thing they've achieved is the fact I'm now writing my first review for a Firefox Addon (Change Around nowadays).

Works brilliantly. Especially when you can't find the wireless mouse!

C - 'could do better' Rated 3 out of 5 stars

it's ok but to be honest sometimes a bit pointless, especially on sites like google where typing in a three digit number is much slower than clicking. Also wrecks the graphics and layout of some sites such as Yahoo! Search by displaying lots of crowded numbers.

My first experience: Terrible! Rated 1 out of 5 stars

I'm using it in Xubuntu Linux. I like the idea of not using mouse or touch pad ( in my case ) when browsing. I install it and see how it works. Know what? its terrible!

It conflicts with the Firefox shortcut keys. Especially the Alt+[0-9] combination to change from tab to tab which I always use. For example, you switch from tab 3 to tab 1 by pressing Alt+1, the action would not only switch you to tab 1 but also activate link 1 on tab 1. I tried it in youtube and I'm always send back to the homepage or to other page every time I switch tabs.

I also had the problem with ids that have more than 1 numeral. The tutorial is not that descriptive in how to work with them. I experiment a lot. Ctrl+ID seems to work, but it is also used for IDs with editable contents. From users point of view, such unintuitive interface coupled with incomplete or confusing documentation is unforgivable.

Also, there are web pages where some IDs are hidden by other elements of the page. This is not much a problem though but is annoying.

Still, there is one thing i miss in it! and it's tab indexing support.
