Dear Developer,
Amazing idea you have with this addon! I wonder why Mozilla didnt take this approach. But sad to know that it doesnt work properly with FF12 :(
Also that you are not updating this addon makes it difficult to use it. Please update it to make it work. If it works, it deserves 5 stars.

Possible to drag the bars? Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Is it possible to drag the bars? What if we need or want to drag the addon-bar or the findbar.

Very buggy and needs work! Rated 1 out of 5 stars

If you want to toggle the add-on bar, it is built in to Firefox. The add-on does more than that, but the arrow disappears for me when it is minimized. I even rearranged my icons to resemble the author's but it still doesn't show the arrow when minimized even after resetting the minimum width.

As a previous commenter said, the scrollbar is hidden at the bottom. This is annoying, and horrible if your window manager places both arrows at the bottom. I would suggest putting it on the left instead of the right by default with an option to place it on the right for window managers that place the scrollbars on the left.

Adding a combined minimize and restore button with a maximize button that is visible when restored to reset the add-on bar to the default location and width would make this idea work.

Very nice idea and good customization options. Very nice that you can keep some icons unhidden by increasing the minimum size. Worked fine in Firefox 16 for me.

It isn't useful to me, though, unless I can maximize the addon bar to it's full width when clicking the arrow. I moved my url box down to the Addon bar so I can hide my address bar (since FFx won't let you move certain status icons.) With this extension my url is completely hidden and there's no way to show it. In addition, I have no way to Search from the url box (using Omnibar.) I will look for an autohide extension instead. But Thank you!

almost perfect for me Rated 5 out of 5 stars

I found this after using a Stylish style to do similar similar to the addon bar (making it take up only the space that has icons), but this is far better, with the minimization. :)

For my use, the only issue I had, which is not really the fault of this extension, was that 2 of my extensions use the older status bar placement, so were unavailable by default. Furthermore, one (ScrabBook Plus, as well as the original ScrapBook) has different commands for its status bar than toolbar icon. I spent hours trying to sort this out because I rely on its editor often (only accessible AFAIK by the status bar icon). I finally managed to be able to use it without this extension through an old extension named keyconfig, whose author had the actual code to hot-key a shortcut to the editor posted in one of about 140 pages of a discussion. Again, this is not the fault of this extension, but of an outdated method used by other extensions, so I won't drop a star in my rating.. However, it's still a concern for people who rely on functions of extensions that pose this conflict, as the item set to be a status bar icon isn't doesn't always serve the same function as a toolbar icon that can be added to the addon bar manually.

So, great work, but any possible future plans to make it play nicer with other extensions would be of great benefit to those who use otherwise conflicting extensions.

Very helpful for people who want to use a lot of buttons but don't want to crowd the URL bar.

I love this addon! It works perfectly for me. The only thing I've noticed is that it covers the scroll down box you can click in the bottom-right corner of the screen, but since I use the mouse scroll wheel it doesn't bother me in the slightest bit. Excellent work, and thank you!

Excelente complemento Rated 5 out of 5 stars

OMIGOSH! You have made my life perfect! I LOVE YOU! I have been living with that plague of an add-on bar forever. You are the most awesome person for getting that gigantic nuisance out of my life. THANK YOU SO MUCH!

The Best Of It's Kind Rated 5 out of 5 stars

This was the second add-on of this kind I've used but is, by far, the one that does the best job.

Thanks to Minimize Addon-Bar, the add-on bar doesn't occupy more space than it has to and one has the ability to minimize to the size of a small button it when it's not needed. It support both current add-on items and old status bar items, although the latter support needs to be enabled in the options.

It also integrates Download Statusbar leaving it on the left side of the screen, and resizes it according to the amount of current downloads.

The find text bar also gets stylized nicely. It gets placed above the add-on bar, but separated from it and with a really nice look.

The only issue I have with Minimize Addon-Bar is that it ignores the scroll bars and covers them.

This is perfect! I only just installed Minimize-addon-bar but am in love with it, the appearance of firefox is much better now, and feels less cluttered than if I used the standard addonbar.

My only annoyance is that old addons that havent been updated to work with the addonbar and still expect the statusbar dont show up in this addon. PermitCookies/LikeThePage etc...

Oh, and the addon covering the bottom of the scrollbar is a shame, but not the end of the world. Would be nice if could be fixed.

Skins good, addon bar bad Rated 4 out of 5 stars

I love the Download Status bar skin, but the I don't really need the addon bar hide button. is it possible to make a separate addon or maybe an option to just use the skins?

Rated 4 out of 5 stars

Nice addon, but I don't like it to overlay the scroll bar.

I used this userstyle (for Stylish https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/stylish/), similar to this addon, that perfectly fits my needs:
http://userstyles.org/styles/45050/addon-bar-auto-hide-fast-fade-in-slow-fade-out
May need some tweak, you can do it manually accessing the code from the userstyles list in the addon manager, it's quite easy to tweak, quite intuitive.
But there are other alternatives https://www.google.com/search?hl=en&safe=off&q=hide+addon+bar+site%3Auserstyles.org

Anyway, I was looking for a replacement for AutoHide Statusbar addon for FF versions bellow to 4 (here you have AutoHide Statusbar 0.4.7 http://www.thunderbird-forum.de/p12521-autohidestatusbar.html#post12521 that has been removed here), that works for the addon bar of FF 4 and above. The most similar solution I have is http://userstyles.org/styles/37319/autohide-add-on-bar-fx-4 and specially the modification I posted there, which I'm using now.
