Why was MicroFox for Firefox created?
MicroFox started life first as a theme (MicroMozilla) for Mozilla somewhere around M10 (even before Firefox, Seamonkey, etc), which is now 9.5 years ago! The overall idea behind LittleBird is to minimize the user interface to provide more screenspace for the actual content, usign old-school 8-bit images, and with consistent and clear styling. One of the design rules is to always give consistent feedback on the use of widgets, by always providing a clear hover state and active state.
What's next for MicroFox for Firefox
Main development focuses on supporting extensions, fixing issues (if any!), and keeping up to date with Firefox development, including support for current nightlies.
