exactly as advertised Rated 5 out of 5 stars

This does exactly what it claims to do; no more and no less. A must for anybody using a keyboard layout that puts "q" and "tab" beside one another, since it helps prevent the all-too-common accidental window closure due to said placement.

This is my favorite feature in Chrome; great to have it in Firefox. I hit Ctrl+Q constantly, so this will save me a lot of pain.

room for improvement Rated 3 out of 5 stars

This addon works fine but it doesn’t solve my issue, which is to avoid quitting Firefox when I do a Ctrl-Q instead of a Ctrl-Tab. It works if I want to switch to the next tab (Ctrl-Q), but if I want to switch the following tab (Ctrl-Q Ctrl-Q) Firefox is closed before I could see the confirmation dialog.

More generally, I don’t think it’s a good idea to confirm an action with the exact same action. Confirming with [Return] or any other key would be better, imho.

Apart from that, the name should be « Accel-Q-override » or ctrl-q-override or cmd-q-override… but not meta-q-override, because Meta is Alt/Escape, not Ctrl/Cmd.

Thanks for the review

I think you have great suggestions, but I disagree with this direction.

Does what it says on the tin, and looks like it should come with the browser out of the box. Keeps me from butter-fingering the whole browser closed when I just meant to close a tab!

Thanks!

Thanks Les! There's already a bug open for this feature to be default in Fx.
