No longer works. RequestPolicy shows each site making the request to ajax.googleapis.com. To be certain, I routed the google address to localhost in the hosts file- sites aren't using the packaged js, to the best of my knowledge.

Dev, how to host this is no mystery. Create a github.io page and host it there. Write an explanation here explaining why you need to do this. Boom, done. Plenty of enthusiast extensions are not hosted on this mozilla platform. The official distribution method of mozilla is useless if you're letting this fall into disrepair. At this point in time, if you don't transition to github, NO ONE can use this.

Edit- another reason to use github- so we can actually respond to eachother in a sane way.

Please go do your homework. Extension auto updating can be made to work outside of mozilla, for any host, and github.io will all you to give the user a one click install that behaves exactly like the mozilla site. Simply going to a site and clicking "install" is not exclusive technical knowledge. The ONLY caveat is that such extensions are not installed automatically on devices connected to firefox sync, so it must be manually installed on any device you wish to use it on.

Even supposing none of the above were true, as I tried to explain above: ceasing development affects 100% of users, whereas doing SOMETHING, even if it requires technical knowledge on the part of the end user, will benefit a subset of your audience. Put it on github.

Link,

Do the sites in question contain the necessary data attributes on the script tags that reference ajax.googleapis.com? LocalLoad does *not* block references to such site unless the original site author chose to.

Hosting is indeed a mystery. Given the number of DEVELOPERS who do not know how to obtain the source from an xpi file for an extension I do not feel it is remotely adequate to suggest that users go to Github, role their own version of the extension (or have it hosted there), and then manually install it on their PC. Users of extensions should be able to receive automatic updates. Extensions should not only work for those who are aware of certain technical knowledge.

Is this going to be updated? Does it work fine just the way it is? Maybe someone can take over the project or create a similar extension?

Edit: If Mozilla takes too long to review this, can we install a new version from elsewhere, like your site or Github?

The extension requires both the site to include the necessary data attributes, and the user must support it.

As far as new versions go, the reason why new versions stopped coming out is that Mozilla scans all JavaScript code including in an extension, which includes all of the JavaScript libraries. This ends up being a lengthy process and the scan that Mozilla does when testing new version submissions eventually times out.

There is also a minor bug that I would like to work out, but since I cannot distribute new versions through this mechanism (which is what 99.9999% of users go for extensions) I have not worked out a solution for it.

hey it seems to work , i have a few questions though.
1) does it only work when websites request jquery from ajax google or from anywhere ? ist based on filename or on adress?
2)should i help you update the extension? collecting the scripts and renaming them is a breeze with my filemanager.
3)how do security addons react to it? can i even block scripts loaded from an addon? or does it sit behind the jquery link and i can still block it like normal?
4) ´can you help me make an addon which reloads bg-images for websites based on url based on the replacement code of this addon?like a better cache, its a very request from many firefox users.

Our! ... Our! I do not believe that this happened! "I am surprised!"

I'm a donkey by never having found this extension before, in all my life.

Was looking for an extension with this functionality since Firefox 2.0 (2006).

Despite being the largest I've ever downloaded throughout my life, after of course, (Gismeteo weather forecast in speed-dial) "for Opera Browser" size 5.4 MB.
https://addons.opera.com/pt-br/extensions/details/gismeteo-weather-forecast-IN-speed-dial/?display=en

Your "Local Load" extension has only 5.6 MB (v 1.0.7) and is one of the best ever created by mankind.

I'm a fan of Firefox, and it works perfect in FF Aurora 25.0 a2!

Thank you!

It's only large because it literally has to pack every single version of these JavaScript libraries the extension supports into the installer (which is also why it's not updated as often as I'd like -- the Mozilla validator runs ALL of the libraries and times out). The actual code is very small -- maybe a few KB.

Firefox 19 built-in PDF viewer fails with Local Load enabled Rated 3 out of 5 stars

Local Load 1.0.6 is a blocking add-on (extension) for the new Firefox version 19 built-in PDF viewer (PDF.js). Disable Local Load to be able to view PDF files inside Firefox 19 using PDF.js.

1.0.7

This issue has been resolved in 1.0.7. Eventually the extension will be reviewed by AMO and pushed out to people. Use the contact form on the website if you'd like to receive an early copy of the new version.

Please add these two features:- A feature allow user add .js file from local disk, user can save javascript from a website and add it to Local Load. This is a super feature and make Firefox insane fast!!!!!- And a feature if it is checked will auto add .js file from a website user visit. I think with these two feature, it will make Firefox become the fastest browser in the world with Sunspider 8-9ms, now Firefox 5.0 beta stuck at 224ms. If i move .js file from local disk to RAMDisk, Firefox will have no opponent, RAM faster than local disk.I know that it is hard, but I hope you will do your hard work make this addon perfect, and think with these feature, Local Load no need Google AJAX Library API anymore, It will be smaller, smaller and easy to configuration.
