Countdown Timer Gone? Rated 4 out of 5 stars

I've been using leechblock for over a year now and it's been great, but I just upgraded to FireFox 4 and the countdown timer no longer appears at the bottom of the screen. This makes it a bit less useful as I can't tell how long I've been wasting time for anymore!

I think that only missing a button on toolbar to open the LeechBlock configurations quickly.

Never mind Firefox. I honestly think that operating systems should come with Leechblock built in! Great program!

Works Well, Wildcard Request Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Works very well - I have one request. Using wildcards is great - I have it set up so that *.* is blocked after an hour, except for the exceptions. What I would like to request, however, is that when using wildcards (or at least an option for it) each site is treated individually: now, after an hour total on non-excepted sites, no non-excepted sites will work. I'd like to be able to set a limit of one hour PER non-excepted site, so that I can have a certain amount of time on any site before it shuts down.

Very Helpful! (but there is a bug) Rated 4 out of 5 stars

Works as described and it has significantly decreased by tendencies to procrastinate. However, there is one glaring bug. If you unchecked the option that says to only count time when the black listed page is active, then the timer will start 'doublecounting' (counting down faster than it should be) if you have multiple blacklisted pages open on different tabs.

All I wanted to do was block certain spam sites for good with a quick right click > block. Doesnt seem to have that option, or if it does, must wade through tabs and pages of options to look for it. Atm have to enter the site name in the hosts file. Just cant understand why this addon which seems to have every conceivable option to block sites by duration, day, hour etc is lacking the simplest of all functions, block a site for good with a simple one step right click. (emphasis on quick, one step).

Nice idea, but I cannot get it to work, even though I have the most recent version of Firefox and the most recent version of Leechblock. I have it set up exactly like the Examples page suggests, and nada.

This is the best web block add on ever with most number of useful options. However, I do have a suggestion - please add a button that users can put next to the URL bar so one can access the options / see how much time is left before block down more easily. Thanks.

Problem with Leechblock Rated 1 out of 5 stars

I thought it worked like a charm :(
A student needed access after 4:3pm so I went to tools, Leechblock, but did not prompt me for a password. I entered another password then tried accessing Leechblock without leaving the current FF session and it prompted me for the password. When I closed down the FF session and started another another, Leechblock did not request the password. I could have sworn I tested this. We are running a dual boot (XP, Scientific Linux/Wubi) with user authentication but that has not changed.
FF 3.6.13,
Version 5.1 sp 2 (build 2600.xpsp_sp2_gdr.100216-1441)

Any solutions? If not, I withdraw my prev review...Leechbloock gave me a false sense of security :(

very useful and effective Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Great tool to help me curb my procrastination tendencies at work. It effectively blocks you from your email, facebook, or whatever other site you tend to just drift towards and whittle away the minutes on. This is not a child-locking tool; yes you can "get around" the blocked sites or disable the whole dang thing if you really want to. This is meant as a productivity tool to assist adults. Therefore there is the presumption that as adults we have some restraint and self-control and won't go uninstalling it just to get to our precious email! :)

"Can you, make it a habit to unplug for four hours a day? Three? Two? What matters most isn't the amount of time, but who's calling the shots: the ceaseless data stream, or you. Decide when to be connected, then decide to disconnect. Alternative metaphor: it's a one-on-one fistfight between you and Mark Zuckerberg for control of your brain. Make sure you win."

it works and it's a life saver Rated 5 out of 5 stars

you can block sites that have you hooked.... or program it so you will have a specific time everyday
specific time per week etc etc... it is limitless...

offcourse if you are a facebook junkie for example...you can do stuff to disable it bla bla bla...

but it works as a first shock and reminder that you are about to enter a site that is killing you...

I am so aggrivated by this! I downloaded it for the first time here and its asking me for a password to open the application. I am trying to keep my kids off harmful websites. What the heck is going on here?
