This add-on, while listed as for Windows only, does actually install and work on Linux. The preferences even include Linux (and Mac) specific options.

While I'd rather use Chromium, on my netbook it takes up too much RAM, hence I'm using Firefox. This add-on gives me back the same screen real estate I had with Chromium, so thanks for an excellent add-on!

Plenty of customisation features too, although the defaults worked pretty well, and seemed to have detected that I'm running Linux.

This review is for a previous version of the add-on (2.7.3).
