One of the first add-ons I get for any new Firefox install.

SSL support can be had by installing the HTTPS-Everywhere add-on available from the EFF, but it would be nice if there was a checkbox within the options menu for SSL.

nice but missing something useful Rated 3 out of 5 stars

this seems cool but it's missing something.... there should be a button to search Youtube as well i had that on the google toolbar however the google toolbar uses up more ram than i want used... so the Youtube search button would be great

Hi there,
I was unable to put a suggestion on the BornGeek web site as it insisted I was a spam bot. I hope the author gets this...
Great Add-On. It would be great if a "SSL search On/Off" feature could be added to allow the user to use the Google HTTPS/SSL web search facility.
Thanks

Great addon, BUT it badly needs SSL support. When I search, I want it to use https://www.google.com

Google Toolbar simply consumes to much memory over time. It is unusable to me now.

Very, very happy to have this replacement. Thank you and keep up the good work.

I get everything I want: up a level, highlight search words, translate. As some have said, Firefox and my system perform better with "Lite" than with the "official Google Toolbar."

Not so much light-weight as cruft-free. Fewer features than the official Google toolbar, but there are still a lot of them, including all the ones I care about. And all these features *work* *correctly* and do so without messing up your browser, something you can't hope for from Google's betaware.

Nice job, Jonah!

Googlebar Lite 4.7.3 on Firefox 3.5.5 (guess on 3.6.* as well) running straight and smooth. The best of Googlebar (...) cannot be missed :)
As far as I'm concerned, even though its advantages, I wouldn't have installed this add-on without its 'Toggle Google Lite Toolbar' toolbar button, and I really appreciate this commodity for saving screen space.
Googlebar Lite is one of those unavoidable Firefox add-ons, in my opinion. Very nice achievement.

Does what the real Google Toolbar should do Rated 5 out of 5 stars

I had no choice but to install this, as the official Google Toolbar has made my browser too slow to use any more.

I’m pleased to say Googlebar Lite seems to be working perfectly. Nice options, too.

Very nice and very useful addon for replacing the official Google toolbar. Many thanks to the developer(s)!
Just a small feature request : could you add the Google Code Search (http://www.google.com/codesearch) to the predefined buttons?
Thanks in advance,
RB

I'd love it if you could break GL in half:
a) the search-box, along with the Combined Search Menu button
b) the rest of the elements.

A great productivity tool Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Thank you for this great addon. I am a fan of the googlebar lite and had been using it for year. The shortcut key and text highlight is truly useful, and I cannot surf the web without it. This addon would be even better if it can support wikipedia search and keyboard shortcut for toggling highlight.

Thank you for this great addon. I am a big fan of the googlebar lite, and had been using it for years. My favorite features are the keyboard shortcuts and text highlight. It would be great if it can also support wikipedia search, and shortcut key for toggling text highlight.

Google Shopping (Froogle) search option dropped. Boooo! Used it all the time, IMHO a vital search.

Google Shopping Returning Soon

The shopping search (now called Google Product Search) will be returning in 4.7.2, which should be released very soon. Apologies for removing this core search.
