This addon isn't bad.And worked in the past. Sadly there's no development actually. If this addon does "not" work I can recommend this Greasmonkey Script: Google Preview Pane for Greasemonkey http://userscripts.org/scripts/show/50420
It is similar to Google Walker. But first you should try google walker.

Try the dev release

Hey Twiggy182, thanks for the feedback!

Try the *dev* release on the home page. I need to get it cleaned up and submitted for official release here, but it's working great for me with FF 3.6.

I don`t speak english very well so i excuse about it since now,
I liked tihs add on a lot, and I configure the google results page to make the preview window bigger, like a 70% of the screen (it is for youtube and sites like that were you wanna see everytihg and not only the 25% of it), and it works but when I select a second page, it comes back to the 50-50 configuration. I`ve tried to make this configuration permanent (I ve tried the google customize add on, and the mozilla view options to do it but it hasn`t worked).... it could be a very nice touch and a very usefull way to search...
If you know how can I do it please e-mail me (moskanibal@hotmail.com) or something.....thanks for that work

Try NoSquint

Hey Moskanibal! Thanks for the great feedback.

I agree that the toughest part is seeing all of the results preview - most monitors don't have enough width. I am working on solutions, see the ResultsWalker web page for my notes. Currently, I have had the best luck using the NoSquint addon to shrink the results, try it out and let me know what you think. [resultswalker@gmail.com]

This plugin makes google-searches so much easier, especially on large monitors.

This is great. Very useful.

The BEST Firefox add-on! Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Google can only go so far in providing search links, so much time is often wasted clicking on those links and going to sites that are not what you're looking for. Results Walker saves an amazing amount of time, displaying the page results by mouse-over!

When you hover over the result, the right pane quickly displays the page in question so I can see where I want to go. This "Walking" is the evolution of simple "browsing" and "searching" and adds an incredible amount of functionality to web navigation!

not for me. pages that are loaded into the iframe will open popups or forward you out of your results page, not allowing you to go back. for example on page two of google.de results for "test" there is the site http://www.testcity.de/index.html

and it will take you away and pressing "back" wont help.

Blame testcity

Hey tannenwheel! Thanks for the feedback.

I agree that's an annoying behavior. But Firefox does not allow me to have access to the content of the iframe. If the webpage in the iframe insists on resetting the top frame via Javascript, as testcity does, it will break out of any and all iframes.

I'll keep searching for ways to prevent this from happening from within the addon. In the meantime, you can install NoScript and block testcity's javascript, which is the real culprit here. That's the cleanest solution.

I installed this and it worked fine but then i installed a few ADDON UPDATES, and next day google results walker was not at all on the google page. It dissappeared. So i uninstalled and reinstalled and still not working. I forget which updates I installed yesterday so i don't know if thats the problem. Also googlepedia won't install either. Anyone else have same problem and has figured out if & what installed updates caused this. Also , when google results did work for that day, i would have liked to resize (at anytime) and would like very very SKINNY SCROLLBARS to save space and clutter. Would love to have this addon working! Thankyou!

Try the latest release

Hello canadagirl, thanks for the feedback!

If you're trying to use google.ca, make sure you have the latest release (at least 1.0.1), and it should work for you.

I'll add the scrollbar request to the list, it's a great idea. In the meantime, you can try using the NoSquint addon and reduce the font size to make things fit better. See the homepage for more tips.

The googlepedia request is a bit tricky. My addon and googlepedia are both trying to use the same space. I'll see if I can update the addon to get out of googlepedia's way, if it's installed, when the preview is turned off.

Thanks for your feedback!

Même pas eu attendre plusieurs jours, la v0.5.12 compatible google.fr est sortie cet après-midi, avec un petit mail perso de l'auteur pour le signaler. Ca mérite un don de suite ....

Excellent idea and works as advertised. One note: if it doesn't work for you, it may be worth installing the "experimental" version (helped me)

Results Walker 1.0.1 Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Canadagirl (and everyone!):
Log in and get the experimental version 1.0.1 (click on "See All Versions"). It works with google.ca and saves your preferences, so you can disable the preview when you want.

Thanks for the feedback

As requested, I added an enable/disable toggle. You can open the preview in a new tab if you right click in the preview window and select "This Frame->Open Frame in New Tab". See the homepage for more features and documentation. Thanks!
