Im sorry but i dont know if its this addon with another addon that is causing sending millions of requests to google and thus, making google tellme that i cant search because im a bot
for the developer, please contact me if you want to test this

This review is for a previous version of the add-on (0.6.7).

Hi! I have tested and it is indeed this addon that is causing the sending out of much requests to Google. Really sorry about that. Hope Google has released you as a bot and you can now make searches again. Have been inactive on my Firefox extensions thus did not realize. So thanks for the alert and the offer to test this! If this addon is still of use to you, the updated version can be downloaded at https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/google-date-keeper/versions/0.6.9. Once again, my apologies.

Send many request on completion of google Rated 1 out of 5 stars

I don't know why, but this plugin send a many request to google on focus google completion. Unfortunately, this plugin sending request to google when i unfocus and doing something on another tab.
so I got alart from google like, are you bot?
Definetly not.

Hi! Thanks for the alert! Google changed their internal codes and thus this addon did send many requests out as it couldn't get the date data. Sorry for the bot alert! Must have been frustrating and inconvenient for you. The change in Google internal codes now make retrieval possible on the page itself. No longer are requests to Google necessary. If this addon still interest you, the updated version is at https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/google-date-keeper/versions/0.6.9. Once again, my apologies.

Can we set a default time period? Rated 4 out of 5 stars

I love this addon, but may I request that you add the ability to have a default search period. I almost always want "Past Year" but I always forget to set the time period and Date Keeper gives me "Anytime." Then I have to do the search again. I'd like to have "past year" be the default. Can you consider adding this option and letting us set a default?

I think it's the fact that Google Instant is on that makes this more annoying because it doesn't wait for me to set the time period.

This review is for a previous version of the add-on (0.6.1).

Date Keeper is not set to any default and it gives "Anytime" because it is simply reflecting the search period of your page as it is only a tool that help us set the time period for subsequent searches. A default search period can't be used because it won't know if the search page is the first or subsequent ones. If "Past Year" is the default and "Past Month" is set on a subsequent search, should it use the default or not?

Since what you are looking for is to set the first search page to "Past Year", using a keyword bookmark will accomplish that. More info can be found here - http://kb.mozillazine.org/Using_keyword_searches.

[The location field for your bookmark will be something like "http://www.google.com/search?q=%s&tbs=qdr:y"]

Very nice / 6 month? Rated 4 out of 5 stars

I like this a lot!
A minor improvement would be the addition of a 6 month search window.

Any month! =)

To retrieve a 6 month search, choose "past month" at the date option and then press 6.

Can't believe I have to move to another screen and dig down 2 levels to get this option. Weak Google. Awesome addon, it works great for me (FF 3.0.5, OS X). Thanks!

I'm scoring 5 stars here because this extension is a great relief for anyone dealing with Google Search's date handler. No need anymore to constantly call the bookmarklet. Really handy.
