I followed the advice of vulpe_focoasa without trouble. More specificically, I did the following
* I right clicked on the Add to Firefox and chose 'save Link As'. I saved the file to my hard drive.
* I changed the extension of the file from .xpi to .zip and used winzip to unzip the file.
* I opened the unzipped folder and there I found the file install.rdf. I opened that with a notepad.
* I changed the text '3.1a1pre' to '3.6.*' and saved the file.
* I rezipped all the files and folders into a zip file.
* I renamed it to the original file name - .xpi
* I dragged the .xpi file onto FireFox content area and Firefox then asked me if I wanted to install it.
* In installed it and it worked.

dovnload the gdocsbar-0.5.7-fx.xpi file, open it and change in the install.rdf file the line with the max version in to 3.6.*
and it works.

Please Update Rated 4 out of 5 stars

This is one of the best addon's I have ever used and my sole reason for my not upgrading to FF3.5.

Please Please update it and whilst your at it, please fix the tool bar Icon the arrow works back to front!

remove or update please Rated 1 out of 5 stars

Man...the last update has been released over a year now. Cmon you gotta be serious. Please take it from the list and throw it online again when issues are fixed. It could be a valuable addon tough.

Very good, but obviously needs to be updated to Firefox 3.5.

bugs... Rated 3 out of 5 stars

it's a good idea to access gDocs, but some imcompatible issues when using it in ff3. can't open document. and the side bar can't hide automatically...

anyway, it can upload the doc/webslip to gdocs, it's good. hope it resove these issues soon.

Unstable... I can change the document type after an upload, I need to restart FF to fix this.

I can't login to my account because I had special character in my pw (such as "$", "*") which is good for powerful pw... I had to change my pw in order to use this...

Finally, adding and editing is not as fast and efficient as google notebook extension... I've planed to use this after they stop the google notebook development... but I changed my mind...

require update Rated 3 out of 5 stars

Good design but it is obsolete now

Good idea but right now doesn't open the docs! Google Docs says: "Authentication required".

Make it compatible with Hebrew and Arabic web snippets Rated 4 out of 5 stars

It would be a wonderful add-on if it were compatible with Hebrew and Arabic as well.

This add-on might be a way to replace Google Notebook [about to be phased out] with Google Docs by allowing rapid and easy cut and pasting from the web to Google Docs.

It would be much more useful in doing so if it had multi-language versatility

Awesome features but does not work Rated 3 out of 5 stars

When I open a document in a folder, it shows an Authorization required error. It looks like an amazing extension based on its interface and features, so its a shame that it ultimately can't open a document. Hope this is fixed soon!

It works with foldes, click the link on the top that says 'All itmes' and it gives you a list of all the folders you have.

The new version also gives me the Authorization Required error. Hope its something small and gets fixed soon.

Great work!!

Great Add-on. I wish it would work with folders though. Maybe in the next update.

Great Concept - But Not Working For Me Rated 3 out of 5 stars

This looks like a REALLY promising addin (hence the 3 stars even though it doesn't work for me).

The reason it is not working for me is that the links generated for the documents appear to be wrong?
Every time I open a document, I get sent to a link that returns a Auth Req'd 401 error.
HOWEVER, I AM logged in! I can happily go to the GDocs home by clicking Actions > Home and open files from there. It appears the links generated are perhaps old? (they have extra folders in there such as "private" and everything, but when browsing to them via GDocs home, they just have the doc key?

Look forward to hearing more on this, great job thus far, looks excellent!

Nice Add-on Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Well done, nice add-on.
Works well when you are doing research as you can copy the section in to your G-Doc with out a hassle..
I recommend to all students.
