Problem in 0.3 Rated 4 out of 5 stars

In the latest version (0.3) the icon in Page Info panel is missing. Instead of its own icon, all other icons are jammed in its place.

Please fix, thanks. :)

Oh, wow - yes, that's a mess! Thanks for letting me know; I usually run OS X, where the Page Info window doesn't show the icons, so I hadn't seen this. Will look into it...

[update]
I've just uploaded a new version 0.3.1 that should fix the icon problem once it becomes available. Thanks again for the report!

Doesn't work in SeaMonkey :(

New Version 0.3.1 Cannot Be Installed in SeaMonkey Rated 1 out of 5 stars

A special version 0.1 was made available for installation in SeaMonkey. I got that special SeaMonkey version from <http://neil.rashbrook.org/%7B70ded480-0a45-4099-84d1-65aa1cb1575e%7D.xpi>. The file is named {70ded480-0a45-4099-84d1-65aa1cb1575e}.xpi. It would have been easier and possibly nicer to communicate this if I had a way to contact the author (Jonathan Kew) without resorting to writing a review. However, I cannot find any contact information.

This is still a problem with version 0.3.1.

I tried adding the SeaMonkey application ID as a second target, to see what would happen. It's possible to make the context-menu command work in SM pretty easily, but it looks like the Page Info dialog is structured quite differently and so that overlay would need to be rewritten. The actual functionality would be the same, but the "hooks" into the Page Info UI don't correspond.

I believe it would be possible to include both overlays in the same XPI (whichever one doesn't apply would simply be ignored), so if someone wants to point me at the SM version I'd be happy to consider merging it in. I wasn't even aware anyone had worked on it.

Show Fonts in Selection on right click does not appear. Nevermind, I found it after selecting text.

It’s almost perfect.

There is only one very minor but very irritating issue: the context menu item gets inserted at the top on my browser, throwing off the position of everything else in the context menu, which is killing my muscle memory. I suggest making the context menu item insertafter="context-viewpartialsource-selection" instead of "context-stop" – I think that’s the most logical position.

extremely handy Rated 4 out of 5 stars

Excellent tool to check on Font-Face. Hiding loaded page components was just a crazy decision by Firefox developers.and this extension solves that.

Font info may display wrongly on different window widths Rated 4 out of 5 stars

Thanks for the extension. It is very useful. However I encounter a bug when viewing a Chinese passage.
Test URL: https://bug677919.bugzilla.mozilla.org/attachment.cgi?id=552320
Expected: http://i.imgur.com/Bp5pb.gif
Unexpected: http://i.imgur.com/IHuHZ.gif

I see this bug on different Chinese characters if I set different window widths.

Thanks for reporting this - I can reproduce this problem, and will try to look into it.

Follow-up: this is due to a bug in the API used to get font information for a selected range of text; see https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=695639. Once that is fixed, the results should be consistently accurate.

Well integrated Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Not bad for a first version!
It does what it's name promises. It gives you information about the fonts used inside a page or the current selection.
Unfortunately I don't see any additional info to the WOFF files on the pages I tested this extension with.

This review is for a previous version of the add-on (0.1.1-signed).

Many authors/vendors currently use WOFF files with no added metadata, in which case nothing will be displayed. If you try Fontdeck's site at http://fontdeck.com, for example, you should see a number of WOFF files that do have metadata attached.

(Now that it's possible for users to view this data, I hope this will give an added incentive for font vendors to include it.)
