Great - but v1.5.18.1 blocks Silverscript for Amazon Instant Video and Netflix Rated 5 out of 5 stars

I still rate this addon a wonderful 5 stars -I can open multiple tabs without all the video news, etc. items running- but
I couldn't run MS Silverscript with Amazon Prime Instant Video in July, 2015 with the latest Flashblock 1.5.18.1 loaded as a Firefox addon - even disabled: I had to actually remove Flashblock from Firefox (not just disabled and grayed-out) before Silverscript (which I had reinstalled to ensure it wasn't the problem) would run with Amazon PIV.
Actually, Amazon PIV gives you the option of running its videos with Adobe Flash if Silverscript won't run and at my low-speed broadband it runs at 480p and Flash provides a much better 720x480p near-DVD quality picture than Silverscript for me, so it's not a problem at home (I reinstalled Flashblock) until I upgrade my ISP. Since Chrome won't run Silverscript, one alternative is to run Amazon PIV in Internet Explorer which has no problem running Silverscript for me.
I discovered this problem with Flashblock after googling and discovering a bugzilla.mozilla.org thread from early in 2015 where Netflix users were having the same problem with Silverscript with the same 1.5.18.1 version of Flashblock.

Great Performance Booster Rated 4 out of 5 stars

I installed this because ads and other things using flash often "lock up" Firefox. This caused Firefox to appear unresponsive and performing poorly -- when in fact it was some flash related problem. A nice enhancement would be a button or key sequence that would load all the flash content on the current page. The whitelist feature can be challenged by the fact that a single web page may load flash content from many other web pages --- which is why you can have performance and other issues to begin with!

Poblems with Twitter and HTML5 Rated 4 out of 5 stars

This add-on prevents you from watching videos on Twitter, unless you enable Flash globally, it is useless to add an exception for this site. It works on Youtube with Flash Player, but not with HTML5. Could you please fix it?

Rated 3 out of 5 stars

This extension prevents Netflix from loading entirely, even when disabled via the "Enable/Disable Flashblock" function, and even when netflix.com is whitelisted. Please fix.

Otherwise, works well.

not working with youtube plz fix. Rated 4 out of 5 stars

This On Working So Good It's Blocking All Unwanted Videos Automatically Loading.Thank You Developer

Once an excellent addon Rated 1 out of 5 stars

Unfortunately it no longer works with youtube, facebook or similar websites that aggressively start playing videos without asking the user.

excellent Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Works great. Blocks annoying auto-start ads and useless clips on news sites.

One suggested improvement: add a right-click context menu item that would allow me to add a website/domain to Flashblock's whitelist.

Instant major improvement Rated 5 out of 5 stars

I have an older MacBook with only 2G of memory that I recently resurrected while I wait for my new MacBook Pro. I don't want to install memory for the short term, but it was so slow as to be almost unusable. I installed Flashblock and restarted Firefox and it's night and day. Everything is responsive again.

This was free, but I'd have easily paid $20 for the result I got, even though I only need it for about a week. Total winner.

This extension currently has over 750,000 users, but it doesn't seem to work reliably. I wonder what that really means.

No longer works... Rated 1 out of 5 stars

Was good while it lasted, I just removed and now use the built in option from firefox (ask to activate).

Youtube and NPO uitzendinggemist don't work anymore since some time with Flashblock. HTML5 blocking seems to be bugged.
Switched to FlashControl, that does work.

Never worked 100% Rated 1 out of 5 stars

I've used this for a while now but have finally replaced it with Flash Control because Flash Block has issues with being a clickable element... ie it is sometimes unclickable ( on Youtube it is never clickable unless I remove the element over the video using Element Inspector [ Q ] )...

This doesn't work with Firefox 38 on Mac. I've had to replace it with Flash Control (https://addons.mozilla.org/en-us/firefox/addon/flash-control/), which works almost exactly the same way as Flashblock worked on Firefox 35.

EXCELLENT ALTERNATIVE ! Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Yes, this is excellent alternative!
