Good work Rated 5 out of 5 stars

This add-on does what it says. Well done by the developer.

Super! Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Nice work! I do like such addons that increase startup time or perfomance. Is there similar addon for thunderbird?

Windows 8, Firefox 26

works great with linux

startup-time reduced from 7.5 sec to 3.8 sec (both after a fresh start)

using firefox 25.0-1 and linux 3.12.0-1

It works for me on Linux: FF 22 running on Slackware 13.1. I use the XFCE desktop and all I had to do was add it to the autostart list in Settings > Sessions and Startup. It does what I wanted and doesn't seem to interfere with anything. It's a good plugin.

Not working Rated 1 out of 5 stars

It is not working with firefox version later 13.0. After the addon was installed and after making the target field changes, the firefox is not loading at all.

Hello! How to enable it for linux (Debian)? Rated 5 out of 5 stars

An excellent add-on! FF loads noticeably faster here on my Win 7 netbook.

I don't know what problem the one-star reviewer had... Did he remember to do the 2nd part of the installation, as described above? It's worth the effort.

Works even with Portable Firefox Versions Rated 5 out of 5 stars

It works even with the portable version I'm using (like this: "...\FirefoxPortable.exe -preloader"). Improved start up speed is quite noticeable, perhaps twice as fast (or perhaps even only a third of the previous start-up time) with the about 50 add-ons I'm using. For me this add-on is definitely a keeper. Thanks!

Great Addon. One question - does it work on multiple Firefox profiles if installed in just one?

It needs to be installed on each profile, otherwise the command-line argument wouldn't be available.

The speed-up is quite noticeable if you have many addons installed.

25% gain here Rated 3 out of 5 stars

I've tested 'Firefox Preloader 1.0' on Firefox 6.02 and now on Firefox 7 Beta6, with 60+ add-ons. Platform is Windows XP SP3, computer is old (Duron CPU at 1.6 gHz!), Windows Prefetch is on for boot only (hence Firefox not concerned):
---
Cold starts of course,
FF 6.02: Without Preloader: 21sec -- With Preloader: 16sec
FF 7 Beta6: Without Preloader: 12sec -- With Preloader: 9sec
---
That leads to a gain of 25% with Preloader;
Shows as well how faster to start Firefox 7 is. Extra delay on boot with Preloader is not noticeable (does exist slightly perhaps but perception of time is as we know subjective)

good, especially if you have lots of add-ons Rated 5 out of 5 stars

I was originally skeptical so thought I would put it too the test and it does work, i have 12 add-ons installed and it used to take a good 10 seconds to start up first time but with this add-on and folowing instructions it boosted that to about 4-5 seconds ..defo worth having!
