Why was Fangs Screen Reader Emulator created?
In 2005 I wanted to learn more about how screen readers worked. I discovered that the most commonly used tools were too expensive for web developers to buy. Alas, many of my web developers friends knew little about how their websites appeared to a user using a screen reader. By developing Fangs in my spare time I hope to make it easier for people to understand how a web page may appear in a screen reader and make the web a better place for everyone.
What's next for Fangs Screen Reader Emulator
I will try to add support for upcoming versions of Firefox as soon as I can.

Who is Peter Krantz?
I believe that web accessibility is beneficial to a lot of persons, not only those who consider themselves "disabled". In 2004 i discovered that my fellow software developers knew little about the consequences of their design decisions and decided to change that. Since then I have developed Fangs and the Ruby Accessibility Analysis Kit (Raakt), with the ambition to lower the barrier for acquiring a basic understanding of web accessibility.
