Beautiful application Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Before to install this application, firefox on facebook increases the temperature of notebook to 70° C
Firefox crashes often for no reason.
Afer installed "FacebookBlocker", now notebook has 50° temperature and it doesn't crash anymore.
An application very useful and i recommend it to everyone.
I'm sorry this application is little know.
Thank you very much to developer.

this is a Must have!
I've tested many times and I don't see any, .net, fbc* urls being loaded in my status (activity) bar.
Thank You, Спасибо.
ps, the problem i was looking to eliminate was the failure of pages fb apis, links to load when fb was down, busy, etc.
I hate facebook, youtube and google.
thanks again.

DOESN'T WORK Rated 1 out of 5 stars

Last updated in 2011 but this does not work in Firefox 19.0.2. The facebook commenting system still loads on websites. GRR!

A good Add-on that does not work. Rated 2 out of 5 stars

Blocking Facebook social plug-ins is a good idea. But this add-on, at this moment of review, does not work at Firefox v.16.

There are other ways. Use Google for "Facebook social plugins disable".

Just removed it. Rated 1 out of 5 stars

Worked through v,4.0, but 100% ineffective for v.11.0. Really too bad because Facebook is little more than a virus that continues to infect my browsing experience. And as long as there is absolutely no support, not interested any longer.

Ehh... not super happy. Might uninstall Rated 2 out of 5 stars

I'm using FF14 and this app does not appear to work, and there is no support that I can find either here or @you all's home page. Disappointing, and uninstalling unless I get a response that explains what in the world an RDS file (or whatever that was you told the other person to do below me) is and how to do it. Please remember that while YOU ALL are experts, few of US are (and please accept my apologies for yelling... just frustrated).

Thanks and kind regards,
/Lover of the Fibonacci Sequence/

P.S. Again, please accept my apologies! I just noticed that it was Dutch Guy who commented to Reijo Koskela instructing him/her to perform the RDS whatchadoodle, unless that's one of you all.

On a different note, it does not appear that any of you all have responded to /anyone's/ reviews/complaints here since at least 2010, so I'll do your legwork for you and look up this mysterious RDS malarky and post the instructions here for the people who are trying to use your darned Add-On @FF.

If my family had not raised me to be polite I sure would delete my apologies to you all.

Thanks so much.

I am using Firefox 3.xx. But this did NOT work.

This worked:
Install Firefox and the AdBlock Plus add-on
Add Filter:

I Googled for:
Facebook social plugins disable

Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Actually... you can adjust the RDF file for this add-on (in the Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\[xxxx].default\extensions\ folder, use your text editor of choice to open "install.rdf"), by changing the line

em:maxVersion="4.*" />
em:maxVersion="7.*" />

(It's the second to last line in the file.)

Restart the browser to make the change take effect. Appears to be working again on my system. :-)

Excellent idea but... Rated 3 out of 5 stars

It looks like it's not working properly on newer versions of FF. I'm using the Aurora channel and it seems the extension doesn't work anymore, I can't see why. Hope this will soon be fixed because this is certainly one of the best extensions I could ever think of !

Well, It DID Work For Awhile... Rated 2 out of 5 stars

This extension worked OK in FF4; missed a lot of sites but it also worked on a fair amount also - and any reduction in FB crap is a good thing! Unfortunately it isn't working at all now on FF5. The extension Manager says it is compatible but it isn't blocking any FB stuff. Anyone know any tweaks to get it working?
Thank you. Jim

does not work on FF5 Rated 3 out of 5 stars

Three stars for the idea. No more, because it wont work on ff5 at all.

... worked well with Firefox 4 and version 1, does not work with Firefox 5 and current FacebookBlocker version 1.24, Facebook-Buttons are still loaded and visible :-(

Broken... Rated 1 out of 5 stars

As of today, the Chrome version works fine, but Firefox add-on couldn't block facebook like buttons.

Pointless Rated 1 out of 5 stars

I STILL find HUGE Facebook buttons like buttons, inviations to log in with Facebook and so much else either get it to ACTUALLY WORK or DITCH it IMMEDIATELY

Not functional on all sites. Left behind loading bar that wouldn't stop in some cases.Instead get AdBlocker and subscribe to the Antisocial block list. It prevents THIRD PARTY integration of facebook (along with many other social network sites). It actually works, saves your bandwidth, covers more content, and you probably already have AdBlocker installed. Subscribe to Antisocial here:

yes, it's a little iffy, Rated 4 out of 5 stars

but any reduction is a plus. It seems to be iffy when the facebook thing is lumped together with others - Digg, Twitter, Myspace (yes, it's used on IMDB!), etc.

@fe000firefox: I second your request. Also, check ReadAbility for cleaning up pages; it's a javascript bookmarklet you put on a toolbar, and it works pretty well.

Nice idea but not reliable Rated 1 out of 5 stars

Doesn't work on sites I visit such as and IMDB. Hope you can iron out the bugs.

However, thanks for the effort
