A good add-on with minor flaws Rated 4 out of 5 stars

I reviewed an older version of this add-on a while back. This add-on is pretty handy. If I click on an epub link I don't have to deal with downloading it to a specific folder since it is automatically saved to the e-pub catalog. You can always downland the file from the catalog to any folder you wish at some more convenient time. There is a bookmark feature that is useful. Paging is smooth..Unfortunately the problems I noticed before still persist. They are: 1) Tiny progress bar that is easy to miss altogether. 2) No page numbers. Page numbers would be a much better way to mark one's progress than the progress bar. 3) When you click the trash can icon it deletes the file without asking you to confirm the deletion. Since the icon is right next to the "save copy" icon, it is easy to make a mistake and click the wrong icon. This has happened to me a few times, and I have had to look on the web for a new copy of the deleted file. A simple "are you sure" prompt would be nice. Overall, a pretty good add-on, but its flaws have relegated it to its status as my secondary epub reader.

Fantastic Rated 5 out of 5 stars

This is an amazingly thorough and feature-rich ePub reader--all right inside our beloved Firefox. No need to install some bloated resource-hogging separate application like Adobe Digital Editions. It respects the Digital Rights Management status of the ePub. It even creates an ePub-Catalog where you can see the books you've viewed, complete with Author, Title, Date Added and a drop-down menu to go instantly to the ePubReaders eBook Shop and other ebook sources online. Lets you set bookmarks in the eBook, change font size, navigate Table of Contents in sidebar, save the ePub locally, configure third-party ePub plugins ... The user manual seems to be extensive, well-organized and well-written, with lots of helpful screen shots. Highly recommended.

While this plugin comes in handy for casual epub viewing it seems to be lacking in full epub feature support such as css page breaks which is a feature I'm using in an epub I'm working on. While it will page break for separate files (usually separate chapters in most epub files) it won't honor page breaks called by the style sheet within the same file. Other then that this plugin can be useful if you're not picky about the layout of the epub you are reading.

Turns My Computer into a Serviceable eBook Reader Without Extra Software Rated 4 out of 5 stars

With the fullscreen mode on, (while hiding the navigation toolbar), this addon makes reading actually quite nice.

It would be ideal if it had a search function, and if you could drag the progress bar to end up at a corresponding page, (or be able to select a page by number as opposed to a chapter, and if it gave page numbers). There's also a peculiar bug on my Firefox (19.0.2 for Mac) where the favicon will alternate with the "connecting" title and the respective epub document title.

At the end of the day, the drawbacks don't really hamper the full-screen reading experience, and this add-on is the best method I've found of having an ePub reader without requiring any additional separate applications.

amazing little add-on -- small glitch Rated 4 out of 5 stars

Works as described! The only problem I had was that it switched back to the save dialog window when I tried to open a file with the extension in caps (.EPUB), but it worked properly when I renamed it (.epub). I'll have to see if it has this problem consistently.

This plugin help me open an ebook I've downloaded from the net. The extension was epub(Ithink) I'm not sure. I was looking all over the net on how to open that file. Eventually, I was brought here by the search engine and I was amazed how useful it is. It's simple to install and in a matter of seconds I was able to read the ebook.

A Great Program that Works Rated 5 out of 5 stars

I have enjoyed your Firefox Add-on, and use it all the time. It is an excellent example of a simple-to-use app that actually works and works well. Thank you.

I have a small request. Could you include a preference to download and directly save an epub file rather than opening it in a tab?

Adding a bookmark to the catalog could still be done, but I understand if that isn't possible. I regularly synchronize my user selected default file directory, so this feature as important and a simple warning stating the lack of a bookmark could be added.

As an aside, I have noticed that many times after downloading and opening an epub file, either the originating tab, or the most recently current tab, will go "back" one web page. This is usually not a problem. Re-clicking the past link or the [forward] button will fix this. It is just odd behavior.

Thank you, again.

I love this extension, which enables me to read all my epub files inside my browser seamlessly. However, one thing which I did not like so much about this add-on is that, by default it saves all the epub files inside your firefox profile directory and depending on how big your epub library is, it might consume a lot of space. I used an workaround of creating a link from my profile directory to the target where I actually want to save my epubs. In Linux you can use ln -s command for this and in Windows (Vista+), you can use mklink command for this.

Example: (Windows)

cd <Firefox Profile Directory>
mklink -J epub <Target Epub Diretory>

Simple!

Great App, Only one problem I have found so far, I'm trying import my "A Song of Ice and Fire" collection, I copy over "A Game of Thrones" and it works, then I try to copy the next book but it overrides the first. It does this with all the "A Song of Ice and Fire" books. I have already imported "Stargate Atlantis: Homecoming" and it works fine.
