Confirming Version 2.5.8 not working on v27 of Firefox Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Dear Devon Jensen
Thank you for all the great years of fine service. I love the way Download Sort works. I do not know of any other download manager that will create a folder structure based on the URL
the way this tool does.

I hope you are doing well and I hope that there will be a new version soon.
Best wishes

Unofficial patched 2.5.8b not working in FF27. Rated 4 out of 5 stars

I agree with 'testarossa', the unofficial 2.5.8b patch has stopped working. It's a damn shame as this is a brilliant little add-on and I hope something can be sorted soon, either officially or unofficially.

Broken again in FF 27? Rated 1 out of 5 stars

Has the patched v2.5.8b version now stopped working for anyone else in FF27?

Excellent program.

Question - Will there ever be support for keywords in the download URLs? For example, all of my professors names are on the blackboard downloads. With this option I could have files go straight to their respective class folders.

BIG thanks LeviathanX Rated 5 out of 5 stars

thank you for your effort on this!

it really is annoying that with every new FF version some extensions stopworking properly. :(
and we get FF updates every 7 weeks, AFAIR. :(:(

personally, i decided to stick to v24 ESR for now, i had too many troubles in the past.

Thanks... Rated 5 out of 5 stars

...for the feedback; I appreciate it :) . Apparently this add-on gets more and more incompatible with each new release of Firefox. Currently I am working on a real replacement which I will post in my profile when it's done. Fixing this mod any further to work with valid API calls is just too much of work; creating a new one with similar features and proper update behavior is the only way to go.
Though it might take a while since my real-life work currently hits me hard on my available free time.

(P.S. the new one will not be a simple clone - I am not a copy cat programmer. It will look different but should have the same core features available; so my plans.)

Thanks for 2.5.8b, LeviathanX. Too bad I had to disable add-on auto-updates because 2.5.8 is considered a newer version and replaces your fix :/

Thanks LeviathanX Rated 5 out of 5 stars

I appreciate the fix. I've been trying to find an alternate add-on since firefox update broke Download Sort, but the only other one that seemed even close to this add-on also suffered from the update and wasn't working either. But with LeviathanX fix, it seems to work like it had before, so thank you

This has to be my most relied upon addon. It works extremely well. Unfortunately, it doesn't work with Firefox 23. I wish the dev would come back :(

I give 4/5 to this add-on, except a few bugs it was working perfectly, but after update to FFv23.0 it stoped working! and seems it's not updated for a longtime, hopefully somebody does.

Worked great till v23... Rated 3 out of 5 stars

I really loved this extension but as others have said its broken by updates in the latest version of Firefox. Devon, if you are reading these comments, please show Download Sort some love and give us an update.

Worked Great until v23 Rated 3 out of 5 stars

Loved this add-on. Setting up was a breeze and made download management a dream come true. Needs to be updated to be comparable with ver 23 of Firefox. Please do this soon, I rely rather heavily on this add-on.

Worked great up through Firefox official release 22, but stopped working with Firefox 23. Still shows an "Automatically saving to: (some folder)" message at the bottom of the screen, but does not actually save the file.

Great Program...HOWEVER.... Rated 3 out of 5 stars

This is a great program. Once you set up where you want files to go, that's it.
It's a bit time consuming at first to set up, but you only have to do it once for each fire type.
HOWEVER....If you select <Auto Save> it seams to work without problem.
BUT!! If you select <Prompt For File Name> (there are 2 such options) nothing happens. I tried to
get in touch with the writer...BUT....I did not see any contact information on his profile page.
The home page listed here and in the add-on
leads to an outdated web page. This page sends you to a add-ons web site that

Using Firefox Nightly x64 ver 23.0a1 Rated 5 out of 5 stars

This addon works great and I am using it now :) It will work as long as you set up everything properly. I also encountered the same problem like murph and Orolo at the beginning, but when you go to the Options to create the filter for common extensions (eg. jpg, png, gif, bmp) and specify the folder you want to save (eg. My Pictures instead of My Documents). After all the setups, when you right-click to choose "Save Link As..." or "Save Image as...", or even using QuickDrag, the addon will save the pictures silently without showing any confirmation. Duplicates? Well, I choose "Auto-increment the filename" when I set up the filter so I don't need to worry when I accidentally save the same picture with the same filename, the firefox will not pop up anything to bother me when I am viewing web pages.

Not only doesn't work, but actually does the opposite! Rated 1 out of 5 stars

Tried out with FF20.0.1 and I would have awarded 0 stars if that would be possible.

As soon as I had the Addon installed, I couldn't download any pictures anymore. After right-clicking on a pic and selecting "Save as...", nothing happened. No download, no dialog, nada.
So I deactivated the Addon, restarted FF and... guess what? Exactly.
I tried multiple pictures from different locations, with the Addon as well as without, the results were the same every time - no can do with the Addon, works flawlessly without.

So my verdict is: Save time and energy by NOT installing this junk.
