Older Version Was Better Rated 3 out of 5 stars
Ya, The add-on itself is awesome, i was able to do so much with the older version.
Then it got updated...and everything just fucked up. I can't even choose my destination folder of where i want to put my images....like...wow, What Happened?
*In Response to the Developer Marnes*
I'm sorry if you think i was blaming you somehow, it was not my intention to make it seem like that, just wanted a simple answer.
Anyway, i found a solution to my problem anyway. All i had to do was uninstall this version, and roll back the previous version, Now everything works fine. But thanks for everything you've done.
(FYI: no need for the insults, I most definitly don't live under a rock)
Mozilla has nerfed the addon api and addons are not able to do as much anymore as in the past.
As for the custom download folder, that's an anti-feature. The browser has a downloads folder so all browser downloads will and should go to that folder. My addon can download images to a subfolder of it, but that feature is not available in firefox yet because the api is not complete yet. It will be possible to use subfolders again at some point in the future, but the browser downloads folder will always be the starting point - it's a matter of technical complexity, reliability, cross-platform operation, and sane design.
What happened? Firefox became a completely different browser under the hood, that's what happened. And a lot of power was taken from addons, a compromise that had to be made to ensure quality in future addons. Don't like it? Switch to chrome, that's what I did.
Edit: yeah, you can roll back to a previous version and switch off auto updates on a per-addon basis. I wouldn't wait too long to update though because starting with firefox 57 the older versions will simply not work anymore.
Option button fails to work in Firefox Rated 5 out of 5 stars
So, I gave permission to activate Double-click Image Downloader, but it still doesnt work.
In Firefox, doubleclicking on an image fails to download it.
Additionally, in the Manage Your Add-Ons, Extensions, the Options button fails to appear. (It should be next to the Disable and Remove buttons.) So, it is impossible to tell the add-on to use the hover option.
I notice, another add-on has the same problem, Video Downloader Professional.
This is not what reviews are for. Make an issue on gitlab ("support site") instead and provide details like your OS and exact firefox version please.
it's not working after update Rated 5 out of 5 stars
it's not working after update
You're going to have to be way more specific if you expect me to do something about it. Make an issue here and explain in detail: https://gitlab.com/Marnes/doubleclick-image-downloader/issues
save folder Rated 4 out of 5 stars
How do I change the default save folder? This review is for a previous version of the add-on (6.0.1).
You don't. Downloads will and should go into the user's downloads folder. Please don't make reviews just to ask a question, that's what an issue tracker is for ("support site").
Good job! Rated 4 out of 5 stars
This addon does exactly what I want to save the images on the website by hover the mouse over the images.
But there are some unuse features which could be removed for slim down the codes, unmainternance codes?
Don't worry about code maintenance, that's my job. The disabled features are there because they carried over from the original addon and the chrome version, and I expect them to be possible in the new firefox soon.
Great addon! Rated 5 out of 5 stars
Good job! Does exactly what I need it to do, thanks! ... Question. I can't seem to select the greyed out box for 'File renaming' section. Why is this? ... Also, will this addon be valid and working in the next Firefox, ie, 'not legacy'... Looking foreword to your response. :)
Edit: Thanks for your quick response! ... Actually, there is no 'legacy' warning on this addon, sorry. I was just getting paranoid that some addons might not be properly marked as legacy when in fact they might end up being... I don't want to start relying on addons only to have to delete them later when Firefox forces me to. So I'm keeping it! :)
Too bad about the file renaming/folder saving issue, however, Firefox will save to whatever you set it to, (Even if you set Firefox to always ask!) and auto increment is working, so it's workable... Really surprised at the lack of availability of these types of addons for Firefox as this is an extremely useful tool.
The file renaming and subfolder features are disabled for now because the new firefox does not support them (they cannot be programmed to work). What do you mean, not legacy? The current update (6.0.0) is not a legacy addon and should not be marked as legacy in your firefox.
편함 Rated 5 out of 5 stars
This review is for a previous version of the add-on (5.4.2).
Any way to change the key from Shift to Ctrl? Rated 5 out of 5 stars
Great add-on, it was exactly what I needed for Firefox.
The only thing I'd like is to change the key from Shift to Ctrl.
I would appreciate it if you told me how to do this, if not maybe consider adding it as an option?
EDIT: Yes, this is what I meant. I am aware that Ctrl is used for other things, but so is Shift as well.
Thanks for the quick reply and for considering my suggestion.
Thanks for the review. Do you mean the shift key from the "require shift key to be pressed" feature? Fair enough, that can probably be implemented. Just keep in mind not everything can be done because ctrl/alt/shift/etc all have other functions in the context of clicks, like downloading link targets and opening them in new tabs or windows, so not everything can be combined freely. Please open a ticket ("New issue") here: https://gitlab.com/Marnes/doubleclick-image-downloader/issues

The arrow icon above the images is huge and ugly. This review is for a previous version of the add-on (5.4.2).
Feel free to create an issue on gitlab and submit a button design of your own of which you're sure everybody else won't find it as ugly as you do this one... Oh and by the way, if you cared to open the settings, you'd have found the button size setting.
Finally one that works well. THKS Rated 5 out of 5 stars
Finally, an honest poster with a feature made for the end-user.
It works very well, I'm not gonna pick on minor individual preferential aspects..
This is what I was looking for, and all the shadyware tried to pose as - while trying to charge cash.
You have my thanks, mister. Many thanks!
5/5 would fap again
Fantastic! Rated 5 out of 5 stars
Maxthon browser has a feature like this but has to press "ctrl" while clicking the mouse... now, this is fantastic! I'm pretty sure most users would find this very handy!! thanks a lot!!!This review is for a previous version of the add-on (5.4.2).
Absolutely brilliant! Rated 5 out of 5 stars
Not only does this extension do exactly what it says, it does so quickly, cleanly, quietly, and efficiently. I also recently posed a feature request/question to Marnes, the developer, who was extremely helpful in going over the issue with me and eventually implementing it! That's above and beyond. This review is for a previous version of the add-on (5.4.2).
Thanks for the vote of confidence

It's fantastic. I really needed something like this for work and both the functionality and it's ease of use is perfect.
I highly recommend it.
Glad you like it :)
Works great Rated 5 out of 5 stars
I use the single click download. Works great. Hover mouse over an image and a large download button appears. I like the "toast" message too it shows a thumbnail and success message as a Firefox notification in bottom right of the screen. Good for confirmation. Great Add On!This review is for a previous version of the add-on (5.4.0).
Godlike Indeed Rated 5 out of 5 stars
I can't think of a better word than the one used by mjolnir. Truly this ad on is Godlike, it has become one of my essential ad ons. TYVM To the awesome developer with the awesome profile picture for this. (Invader Zim rocks!)This review is for a previous version of the add-on (5.3.0).
Why thank you, and you're welcome :) I'm starting to think I should find a way to keep supporting this add-on despite my retirement from firefox addons, people just like it so much... FOR SCIENCE!

starting counter Rated 5 out of 5 stars
this add is amazing. I have spent many hours looking for a software like this. I rally like all the options, especially the counter one.
It it possible to decide the start of the counter. I mean, it starts always from 1. In many case I would like to start it from another number, for example 23 or 25.
Thanks a lot
Although this is a relatively easy feature, I'm sorry to say I've ditched firefox and don't intend to maintain the firefox versions of my addons anymore except for critical things.
Edit: though I guess I should make an exception for DID since it is my single most popular work...
