A fantastic addon! Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Would recommend Double-click Image Downloader to anyone who saves images from the web frequently.

It's fantastic. I really needed something like this for work and both the functionality and it's ease of use is perfect.

I highly recommend it.

Glad you like it :)

Works great Rated 5 out of 5 stars

I use the single click download. Works great. Hover mouse over an image and a large download button appears. I like the "toast" message too it shows a thumbnail and success message as a Firefox notification in bottom right of the screen. Good for confirmation. Great Add On!

Godlike Indeed Rated 5 out of 5 stars

I can't think of a better word than the one used by mjolnir. Truly this ad on is Godlike, it has become one of my essential ad ons. TYVM To the awesome developer with the awesome profile picture for this. (Invader Zim rocks!)

This review is for a previous version of the add-on (5.3.0).

Why thank you, and you're welcome :) I'm starting to think I should find a way to keep supporting this add-on despite my retirement from firefox addons, people just like it so much... FOR SCIENCE!

starting counter Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Dear all,
this add is amazing. I have spent many hours looking for a software like this. I rally like all the options, especially the counter one.

It it possible to decide the start of the counter. I mean, it starts always from 1. In many case I would like to start it from another number, for example 23 or 25.

Thanks a lot

This review is for a previous version of the add-on (5.2.3).

Although this is a relatively easy feature, I'm sorry to say I've ditched firefox and don't intend to maintain the firefox versions of my addons anymore except for critical things.

Edit: though I guess I should make an exception for DID since it is my single most popular work...

Update Rated 5 out of 5 stars

It is a great add on !
Can you make a preference of the position where the Icon should appear on the image itself? Right now is on the top left corner Over the image - and I get some bugs. I want to be able to specify where to appear - (inside or outside image; up-left/mid/right, middle -left/mid/right, down -left/mid/right) - make transparent increment by 10 out of 100%(10 png for each transparency).
Thank you. It will be better !

This review is for a previous version of the add-on (5.2.3).

Thanks for the rating. Your idea is good too and can be done (without all the different pngs even, and with 0-100% transparency), but it would take a lot of work and would make an existing issue in the code even bigger. I'll keep it in mind but I can't promise anything soon. Also, please read the description and review rules next time: requests and issues should go on github, not here. A lot of people keep doing this.

Wonderful addon!! Rated 5 out of 5 stars

I used to use save image in folder addon before this for this same function. But now, this is one of my primary addons.

Some improvements needed.

1. Needs restart, otherwise single-click feature WILL NOT turn off.

2. Needs more in the file rename option. eg., the counter variable should be '001' or '01' not '1'.

This review is for a previous version of the add-on (5.2.1.1-signed).

Thanks for the 5/5. Next time though if you have issues, please report them as an issue on github or by email, as is stated repeatedly in AMO rules and my addon pages. Your 1st remark is indeed an issue I'll look into. The second one though is a classic issue: you're happy with 3 digits for <1000 downloads, but then someone who downloads >1000 images will complain he wants 4 digits, etc. It's better if I just not include digit padding at all.

Powerful and very easy to use Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Just perfect.

Used for a year, and click multiple times daily Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Thanks you for creating "DCID", and making image downloading easily.
I hope it will have a feature to view the image with custom external image viewer, so I can view the image directly.

Thanks in advance,

Glad you like it. You can click on the file's entry in the downloads panel to open it in your viewer.

Works like a charm! Nice job!

Works as advertised Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Great idea, HUGE time saver, thanks developer.

Its a little glitchy, even if restartless you need to restart when making changes in the settings, I disabled the one click button feature but kept popping until the restart.

3 stars... Not any more. Rated 5 out of 5 stars

I quote from your answer you gave to Alan
"You can still use subfolders and filename patterns if you want, but the download "root" will be the folder specified in Firefox's settings from now on."

Since not being able to choose directly a folder to download the photos (as it was before the last upgrade), the add-on is rendered almost useless to me. The instructions you give are not really user friendly for someone who is not very experienced with such things and creating a subfolder in the downloads folder of Firefox so you can copy it from there and paste it where you originally wanted the pics to be placed from the begginnning is an extra waste of time. I give the addon 3 stars because it WAS really helpfull for me and I used it a lot since it was the only one that could do exactly what I wanted, after I tried to understand what you meant by the %title%, %domain%, %number% and all these, that are impossible for someone not relevant to programming to understand. But after the latest "improvement", that we cannot choose our destination folder, I think I will simply give up. A bit of a simpler explanation and the ability to choose easily the destination folder from a drop down menu for example would grant this addon five stars, no doubt.

EDIT: First of all maybe because I am not even "basic computer tricks" lever, and maybe because I have a mac I still find difficult to understand what the %variables% are and how to use them.

HOWEVER

I saw that you brought back the ability to choose the root folder that pictures willl be downloaded as we asked, and with a nice drop down/browse menu.

I totally accept your concerns for problems.
You are the creator, you know better.

But I would like to thank you for making this addon easy and friendly to use again even more than before.

And if it actually causes any troubles, you could reevaluate your decision or remove it then.

5 stars, hands down

PS. I don't know why it says the review was written for the previous version 4.2.5.
I first wrote the review while I had the 4.2.5 version but I edit it now that I have the new version 4.2.6

This review is for a previous version of the add-on (4.2.5).

"impossible for someone not relevant to programming to understand" Sorry but %variable% patterns are common stuff on computers, especially in Windows where it literally uses the same notation: you can for example open %appdata% and such as folders. Such things are basic computer tricks, not programmer-level things.

If you want a different destination so badly, I can look into bringing it back. I just want you to understand there are reasons I removed it that you can't see and I can't just act on every user's whim, adding features while completely ignoring inherent problems they bring with them.

I cant specify the download folder, a few days ago i can but the icon of the addon in the toolbar suddenly dissapears. now the images goes to the download folder, and a few days ago they was downloaded in my desktop. I uninstall and install the addon but the icon (when you put the download path folder) is not showing. How can i fix this? I need to put my own download folders please.

This review is for a previous version of the add-on (4.2.5).

Check the release notes next time please. I removed several features I believed to be excessive or prone to create all sorts of issues (beyond what end users see). You can still use subfolders and filename patterns if you want, but the download "root" will be the folder specified in Firefox's settings from now on. Sorry if this is inconvenient for you, you can always argue with me via email to bring it back, but this is how I would prefer things to be.

Could you add an option to invoke the download manager instead of saving from cache?

This review is for a previous version of the add-on (4.2.3.1-signed).

1) use the email link to request things, not reviews 2) what do you mean? I can't control caching, and the next version will hopefully add the downloaded images to the Downloads library
