Decent plugin works as it says.

By default, the Alt key alone is considered standard and pretty much "the norm" as far as invoking the left most menu, or Alt+E... for subsequent menus.

This component will not let you unhide a menu wuth just Alt, plus it will disable all other keyboard shourtcuts to open specific menus.

I'm wondering why I can't simply set my shortcut to "alt (plus nothing)", which means one less thing to remember. Anyway, this one's pretty cool.

Excellent. Love that I can hide it, and find it in a second by hovering near the top.
Perfect.

Fantastic! Rated 5 out of 5 stars

I'm always on the lookout for screen saving options involving firefox, but hate having to forsake the convenience of the menu bar and status bar. The option to have it hidden, but reappear when hovering over its general area you've provided is exactly what I wanted!

Thanks so much!

Very useful... Rated 5 out of 5 stars

...because it saves essential space. However it does not remove the menu-bar completely, so the bar is still available for those who rarely need it. Allin all every vertically saved pixel is contribution to a better readability of (longer) websites.
Thank you.

P.S.: I borrowed one of your notes for my own extensions ;-)

One of my favorite extensions. Rated 5 out of 5 stars

One of my favorite extensions. I can customize my menu bar then hide or show it with disablemenu. Now my Firefox looks the way I want it and when I want it. The icon looks good too.

I love it. Rated 4 out of 5 stars

really slick add on. before I had this extension I moved the address and search bar to the menu bar to save space, so my only gripe with this extension is that while the menu bar is hidden, if I CRTL-T to make a new, blank tab there is no focus to the address bar. so I cannot just make a new tab and start typing. I really like the way this saves space, and I plan to use it on every machine I have. many thanks.

User Experience Rated 3 out of 5 stars

A very interesting add-on for sure. I find the whole idea extremely useful.

However, in application I would suggest some sort of toggle button somewhere. to turn it on and off on demand. (Key sequences are not something that are possible to remember for all the myriad possibilities out there.)

Keep up the good work. You're well on your way to making a great add-on.

Many thanks.

Simple but Adjustable - Good Set of Functions Rated 5 out of 5 stars

It hides the menu bar through a tool-bar button, hot key command, or context menu item. Also - my favorite - it allows to show the hidden menu-bar with a mouse-over. PERFECT.

Every time I had put all my navigation and menu (via Compact Menu Blue)on one bar, it felt too claustrophobic. Now I hover the mouse cursor over the top of the navigation tool-bar and the menu-bar temporarily appears. The appear and disappear times are variable by user. AWESOME for my 1024x768 15" LCD monitor.

Very handy, but with some inconvenience Rated 4 out of 5 stars

Thanks! Very good extension! I would have scored this for 5 points, if it were not for some small features.

(1) Toolbar button is ugly, you should replace if with some more good-looking.

(2) You consider this extension as spaceconsuming. Well, it is good idea! But why you add one more option to popup-menu?! (I mean option "toggle main menu on/off"). It is very stupid, trust me! Or you should allow user to disable this option in your extension's settings (now such features is not available)

P.S. Some suggestions for the future:

Your extension is very handy! So I suggest adding some features of this sort (i mean spaceconsuming features): toggle status bar on/off.

Conflict with ALT-M and "Email This" Ext. Rated 2 out of 5 stars

I absolutely love your extension, however, I'm not now able to use it due to the fact that I have the "Email This" Extension as well, and I need it daily. When I pressed the ALT-M for your product, I get a "Compose Mail Window" (with the link, as their program is to do). So, perhaps, in your next version, if you plan to make another, you could consider this issue conflict, and make this 'available in the right click menu as well' and not only the keystroke or a customize of a button on the toolbar? Just a thought? I'm just learning all about Mozilla and Firefox and Thunderbird, and love them both very much, and, as a retired Grandma, do alot on the computer daily. So, this would really help, as I like my screen real estate. Thanks for listening and for your wonderful product. Keep up the wonderful work!!!

Last version has a bug Rated 2 out of 5 stars

It's a usuful extension, I've been using it since the beginning but unfortunately this last version sucks. It fails to display the main menubar and it was impossible to restore it. Had to uninstall the extension and install hide menubar to have it back.
The bad thing is that the main menubar is impossible to restore even running firefox in the safe mode or restoring the profile.
I love this extension so please do something to fix it and make it as useful as it used to be. Thanks

Simple and useful. I really like it. I was frustrate that IE7 got (approximately) this feature and not Fx!
Thanks for this add-on.
