Turns out that lots of sites have hyphens in their titles... with Yahoo springing first to mind.

The results when there are multiple hyphens are equally interesting.

Every other extension I found wants to copy the URL as well as the title.

So are we left to try to patch it ourselves?

cool extension! - patch to avoid discarding parts of title after a "-" Rated 3 out of 5 stars

I find this extension very useful. Thanks for writing and sharing it.

Here's a patch so that it doesn't discard stuff after the first "-" character.

I haven't put together any extensions myself but it would be really nice if you could test and incorporate this patch if it works for you. I imagine you'd want to check for the browser version to see if it's new enough that the "- Mozilla Firefox" isn't part of content.document.title. It isn't in 3.6 which is what I run and why I made the patch.

Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.9.2) Gecko/20100115 Firefox/3.6

I think I want to allow the user to configure their own regex.

Another better tool Rated 2 out of 5 stars

For ones would like to copy and format the URL's not only for the title, but in the web pages, you should try:

CoLT 2.4.5

it's better than "copy title" add on.

Hi, thanks for very useful addition! It is possible to make additional options. The text in a kind "title_url" is now copied. Sometimes it is required on the contrary: "url_title", for example for an insert of references in Wikipedia + additional symbols are required "[" and "]" that the reference would have the finished appearance - "[url_title]"

OK, I think I understand this. I have an idea for a next release and this is something that it hopefully should cover. Now I just need the time ;)

Needs an option to copy the URL/selected text as well!

I'm not sure what you are referring to? Could you perhaps explain in more detail. Thanks

Bug :
if ever the document title have a dash, the extension delete all the text after.

I've seen that you made a string.replace to delete " - Mozilla Firefox" but it's not needed anymore, document.title contains only the page title
