Does what it says! Rated 5 out of 5 stars
I have thoroughly benefited from using this addon to share links. However I've had to disable it because it is not compatible with multiprocess Firefox.
Notably it is also legacy and will be disallowed by the end of the year. I do hope the author will update it to be a webextension.
Sure I'll be happy to update it to a webextension soon.
It is not incompatible with multiprocess Firefox, it probably just has to have a tag enabled *stating* that it is. Thanks!
Does not work on Firefox 48.0.1 and 50.0a2 Rated 4 out of 5 stars
It does not work on Firefox 48.0.1 and 50.0a2.
After check, I found that it is the is.gd problem.
It migrate to HTTPS only, but this addon still use HTTP.
Thank you! I will fix it. Here's the bug I filed: https://github.com/fwenzel/copy-shorturl/issues/60

Very solid. Does what its supposed to, the context menu option streamlines everything, and the extra parameter removal is fantastic. One thing Ive noticed though - the option to set goo.gl as the default shortener hasn't worked for a while, which hasn't been a problem since I don't use it myself but Im sure theres people who'd like to.This review is for a previous version of the add-on (22.214.171.124-signed.1-signed).
Thank you for the positive review and for pointing out trouble with the goo.gl shortener! I filed an Issue on the github and will look into it!
i want a prettier icon Rated 5 out of 5 stars
This is great! But i really think it needs a prettier icon!! please! A pretty icon can also brings you more users. This icon in right click panel looks fine, but in toolbar it's vague. This review is for a previous version of the add-on (126.96.36.199-signed.1-signed).
Haha, thank you for the review! I will look into finding a prettier icon for a future release :) Suggestions are, of course, welcome.

The new bit.ly URL is: https://api-ssl.bitly.com/v3/shorten?format=txt&login=xxxxx&apiKey=xxxxx&longUrl=%URL%
Thank you for your review! I'll update the URL in the documentation! It's Issue #41 on github!
Simple and helpful Rated 5 out of 5 stars
When I need short URL, I just right-click on the page. This review is for a previous version of the add-on (2.1.1-signed.1-signed).

Great addon! It'll be useful but doesnt do the thing I went searching for such an add on - I want to right click *on a link* and see "Copy Shortened Link Location".I love how it will use the "canonical" short url if available. This review is for a previous version of the add-on (1.5.1-signed.1-signed).
Good work, but... Rated 5 out of 5 stars
The add-on is very good, almost perfect, but, as I saw in another review, a preferences button would be nice, or a button in the toolbar, so you could just click it and to make the shortUrl... and one other issue (I assume that it is only for me) the add-on was working perfectly until a couple a days ago. The option with the right click, isn't available when I try to copy a short url of a picture. When I reinstall the add-on, the option is available again, but if I close the firefox, the issue continues. Could you tell me why is that ? Thanks in advance, dniskoThis review is for a previous version of the add-on (1.5.1-signed.1-signed).
perfect thing BUT Rated 4 out of 5 stars
missing custom makers of shortcuts, eg. goo.glThis review is for a previous version of the add-on (188.8.131.52-signed.1-signed).
That's not true: You can specify your URL shortener by editing an about:config value: http://copy-shorturl.readthedocs.org/en/latest/serviceurl.html
Until very recently, Mozilla's add-ons SDK did not contain any way to make a preferences page for your add-on so that was an issue. I should be able to make editing the custom URL shorteners easier soon.

Almost perfect Rated 4 out of 5 stars
I agree with the remarks of Walid Damouny. I would add that the extension needs an easier way to specify the fallback URL shortener instead of modifying the correspondent key in the about:config page, for the sake of less experienced users. I could not find a Preferences button in the Addons page in Firefox. Other than that, this is almost perfect. This review is for a previous version of the add-on (220.127.116.11-signed.1-signed).
Thank you for your review! I agree that setting the fallback should be easier. Sadly, the Add-ons SDK framework (https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/developers/docs/sdk/1.1/) does not yet support a "preferences" button and form, so it is sufficiently complicated to add a settings panel at the moment. There is an open enhancement bug (https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=645207) on the matter, but it does not seem to be currently active.
I'll keep investigating how I can make the settings available more easily within the restrictions that the Addons SDK makes! Suggestions greatly appreciated!

Great Add-On... much usefulThis review is for a previous version of the add-on (1.4.1-signed.1-signed).
Really useful :) Rated 4 out of 5 stars
Really useful but I wish it had 3 more features:
1. Have an optional button that can be placed in a toolbar or selectively in the add-on bar.
2. Have an optional icon that can show up in the address bar.
3. Use the above mentioned buttons to expose the short URL if present without shortening the long one (my most wanted feature).
I'd really like to use this extension for its name's sake. There already are URL shortening extensions from their respective websites and also a tonne of other extensions that do the same thing but this is the only one I found that actually copies a short URL if present.
need a button Rated 4 out of 5 stars
great addon! but lack a button, right click is not always easy to useThis review is for a previous version of the add-on (1.4.1-signed.1-signed).

Thank you..Just got this nice addon...and it works great. Just wish I could remember to use it more often. Maybe a button showing at toolbar? This review is for a previous version of the add-on (1.4.1-signed.1-signed).

Best add-on by far. But if you wish to turn off notifications its an easy process.
Just go to about:config, set the setting extensions.copyshorturl.notifications to:
0: Switches off notifications altogether
1: Always uses a standard notification bar
2: Uses Growl if present, a notification bar otherwise.
Almost Perfect Rated 4 out of 5 stars
This does a great job of pulling the custom short urls out of a web page. I wish, though, that it wasn't buried behind a context menu or that there was a toolbar button available for it. Coming from another shortener extension, I find myself missing the ability to make a short url to an image - the option for shortening only appears while viewing a page. This review is for a previous version of the add-on (1.4.1-signed.1-signed).
