Works beautifully Rated 5 out of 5 stars

I love how feature filled this add-on is. It lets me have all the features of Firefox 3.6 on the latest version of Firefox. When combined with Status-4-Evar, it makes my browser much more useful!

Awesome! Rated 5 out of 5 stars

OMG, Why didn't I found this add-on before? It's amazing. *-*

Extra Bar: select all on open Rated 5 out of 5 stars

One of the best plugins for tweakers! :) Just one thing: it would be great, if CtrUrlExtraBar old content was selected on open/focus, like in standard Windows edit controls. Now you open extra bar, start typing search request or pasting URL, and previous content is concatenated to new instead of overwrite.

Thank you! :)

I will add an option to CTRs prefwindow, where the target can be selected: current tab, new tab, new window.

Preeminent Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Outstanding. One of finest add-ons in FF history.
Been using CTR for years. Suggestion for new users:
CTR ▸ Preferences ▸ General UI (1) ▸ ' ✓ Old search'

Puts the class in classic. Rated 5 out of 5 stars

An amazing add-on, that allows you to customize and fine-tune the look and feel of Firefox and potentially get rid of *stupid* UI design decisions Mozilla devs have made.

Bye bye Australis, you were never invited to the party.

Mozilla fcktards Rated 5 out of 5 stars

This addon saves Firefox from the fcktards @ Mozilla who are ruining what Firefox made great. This addon restores the functionality the TardFox team had stripped out of Firefox, that made it possible to be productive.

TardFox would like us to click 100 times and traverse 10 layer deep menus in order to do a single action. It used to be a single click on the addon bar......

This addon saved me majorly because this meant that I could keep my addon toolbar at the bottom of the page.

This addon is the only reason I haven't switched away from TardFox after their idiot choice to punish any who tries to be productive.

Drag opened tabs. Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Previously, I could press on an opened tab and move it to a new location. For some strange reason, it does not work anymore in Firefox 45. Could you add an option in this addon to just do that. Thanks.

Thanks for this great addon.

Nothing changed here. I can still move tabs around in Fx45-48. Disable all add-ons or test on a new Firefox profile to find what is causing this.

Great to know that even such a theme exists. IMO this brings back memories for every older Firefox user... Oh the good old 3.5 days

Cache status add-on moved to status area - fixed Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Why the following change has been made?
'Cache status' add-on: moved 'status' to CTRs status area
It looks better in the address bar, see v.1.4.9.
Is a choice possible?

Update: Version 1.5.1beta3
- 'Cache status' add-on: status position
-> about:config > extensions.classicthemerestorer.cstatextlb

:-) Thank you

This review is for a previous version of the add-on (1.5.0).

The status 'Cache status' add-on offers was part of add-on bars status area a long time ago, but the dev changed its target area to location bar one day.

Other add-ons, that offer an add-on/status bar (like Puzzle Toolbars or Status-4-Evar) move 'Cache status' add-ons content to their status area automatically. CTRs behavior was called buggy and inconsistent and I received requests about "fixing" that and making CTRs status area more consistent.

Future versions of CTR might offer a switch to decide between location bar and CTRs status area.

Can't live without Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Easy, smart configuration to get Firefox to look and behave exactly as you'd like. An essential plugin for Firefox.

Love the addon but have a lot of performance issues with it Rated 5 out of 5 stars

The customization is great, but Firefox is super laggy and slow on some sites (Google Maps, for example). I know it's CTR, as when I disable it, everything runs super smooth. I was using the Beta and then switched to the Release to see if that helped, but still have the same issues. Not sure if anyone else is experiencing this. It's not bad enough to get me to stop using the addon, I just switch over to Chrome for certain sites that give me the most trouble.

edit: thanks for responding, Aris. My CPU isn't *that* old, I've got a 3550K, but I'll try those suggestions and see what happens.

This review is for a previous version of the add-on (1.4.9).

CTR does not affect web content, it can not slow down your browsing experience.
Some options however may need more CPU power than others, so I suggest to "restore CTRs defaults" an rerun the tests.

Features that may have a higher impact on system:
- favicon in location bar
- activity throbber
- custom tab width

I suggest to disable those settings, if your CPU is very old/weak.

EDIT:
Testing on a i5-2500k and haven't seen those issues yet.
