As far as I'm concerned this latest CacheViewer version 0.5b4 now works again, whilst 0.5b3 and even 0.5b2 did not handle its cacheviewer.sqlite related DB correctly. But I read that other users had no problems with b3 and b2, so I admit that once again experience is often very personally tied up with system environment.

Problem with versiobn 0.5b3 Rated 4 out of 5 stars

Great extension, but latest version CacheViewer 0.5b3 will not read the cache, though cache occupations are mentioned. Returning to version 0.5b2 which works fine.

Why is it that I cannot do any edit to cacheviewer.js??

Please see my post detailing the problem:

Disable shortcut? Rated 5 out of 5 stars

How can I disable the shortcut? Apart from that: great extension!

more accessable? Rated 4 out of 5 stars

cool plugin, but it could really use a button, or a shortcut key, context menu, something in the status bar, etc. to open it.

or at least say "it's in the menu bar under 'tools'."

CacheViewer Rated 4 out of 5 stars

Very useful but I don't think it is finding as much as it could.

One thing I notice is that about:cache gives three types of cache: memory, disk and offline. I'm guessing from the display that CacheViewer only searches the first two ?

the files in memory cache are delete from the cache list after entirely downloading...
but firefox (or flash) uses after ! :'(

^ - -^ Good, but... Rated 4 out of 5 stars

The main problem I have with this add-on is that it cannot handle more than 8192 cache entities; exceed that number and it will fail to realize that there is something there. And worse it's search and loading performance will suffer.
A minor tweak to the search behaviour (like adding a 'typing delay') to prevent it from freezing on every key stroke would be useful.
Still this is the best add-on for browsing the cache that is readily availble.

wonderful add-on. but would be even better if we could assign a short-cut for it & prompt the user if the file is going to be re-downloaded from the internet.

Great Extention, needs some love Rated 4 out of 5 stars

When i did a search for "about:cache" this was the first to pop up (on Mozilla's site). It was exactly what i wanted. It has 3 planes to view objects, data pertaining to the objects and location (http(s)).

It will display all images cache regardless of type (PNG... GIF... ect.) and the object information is very detailed including # of fetches, last fetch date, etc. the list containing the locations can be customized as well by no. of fetches... expiration... etc.

I gave it 4 stars because while it does allows you to search your cache, its not completely -- user friendly? i know it not a google search box but it can take some time to play around with it to search things out. It would be better to be able to browse just images (or other stuff) by sizes (by kb size or LxW size) to filter out thumbnails, boarders & other garbage. Lost of "garbage" gets piled up and thus it can be difficult to 'search' with a simple word filter. most of the time, you may not even know what the file is called or the exact URL even, thus search could be improved.

on the not with URL, IMO it should have a "tree" view for the URL sites... being able to view the cache in a tree form makes more sense as pages tend to 'branch out' and have files specific to pages... if you could browse your cache more like a history it would be much eaiser to use. as well, or better yet, be able to filter certain objects and view the contents in a "folder" with is a URL sort of like a shell.

Everyone - don't get me wrong, DL the extionsion, you'll find it useful, i did. it could use some love or added functions, but its still good

Ok, so you can only delete one entry at a time, even if you select multiple ones.

Another complaint is the lack of a pointer to how to start the add-on. There's an entry on the tools menu, folks. No button, no keyboard shortcut.

Still, very useful add-on.

Great, I love it :)

However there might be a bug, cause when I launch CacheViewer while Last.fm player is running in background in one of tabs, then music stops, CacheViewer slows, and after few seconds Adobe Flash plugin displays message 'A script in this movie is causing Adobe Flash Player 9 to run slowly. If it continues to run, your computer may become unresponsive. Do you want to abort the script?'

When not launching CacheViewer while music playing, this had never happened before.
