Best that I can find Rated 4 out of 5 stars

I struggled for a long time before I could get it to work. The reason was I had not registered the feeds by clicking the folder in Brief and then clicking OK. Quite simple when you know how. The only criticism I have so far is that the program lacks even the most basic help files to set up Brief properly. It is necessary to search the forum support postings for answers.

Extremely useful extension, but it does come with some flaws - can't handle multiple feeds very well, slows down mozilla's overall performance while updating large amount of feeds, won't import bookmarks properly, occasional interface bugs, some feeds are not updated at all (google reader seems to be fine), oh, and it looks like the project is dead or frozen. I'll give it three out of five, although i use it on a daily basis.

Extremely slow open Brief with a LOT of feeds. Otherwise a great reader, except for not handling images in some feeds (whereas FF's own feed preview does).

Great addon. Simple interface, informs you when you have any new info from your RSS feeds. Works fine in FireFox 3.5.1.

By far the best RSS news feeder I have tried. It beats Newfox, Simple RSS, Sage in my opinion. Some reasons why:
• CSS layout your own news.
• Userfriendly and good usability.
• Easy settings.

The only negative i have to say is that it could have some more settings.

Buggy? Rated 2 out of 5 stars

Clicking Brief icon on the navigation toolbar in Firefox 3.5.1 closes the navigator!

I need a Make ONLY current page button
not to lose all feeds when forget to press CTRL

add an option not to scan at launching FF

Would actually be using Brief instead of an alternative if only the author agreed to make it support viewing feeds like Firefox's own feed preview does (specifically, images in certain feeds that don't "strictly follow" whatever feed rules). Oh well.

Clearly, there is a difference of opinion about what is intuitive. I had no problem with Sage, and would still be using it if it were updated, but I cannot get this thing to do anything. As far as I can tell, there are no instructions.

Very functional and simple.

Really want to see Safari look of it so that it could perfectly harmonize with Safari skin for FF

Love Brief, but..... Rated 5 out of 5 stars

After switching to several FF 3.5, Sage and Sage Too stopped working so I tried several alternatives that was compatible. Ended up with Brief and am loving it completely. Only problem I'm having is that my live bookmarks' folder keeps getting reset to "null'. Null as in the folder name is completely deleted everytime I restart FF. I already uninstalled all the previously installed RSS readers but maybe there's something in the about:config that's causing the bug. Haven't been able to figure it out though. But other than this minor hiccup, Brief's been an excellent way to keep up with sites that I frequent on a daily basis. Rated 5-stars.

Suggestion - solved Rated 5 out of 5 stars

About Brief closing Firefox when Brief is the only opened tab and you close it, I just found one very simple way to prevent that: I created an empty html page with Kompozer, whose name is blank_page.html. And I choosed this file in Firefox options as "my home page" when Firefox opens.

Suggestion Rated 5 out of 5 stars

When Brief tab is the only opened tab in Firefox, if you close Brief, it closes Firefox.
As I set a blank page as home page, I must first open any site, then Brief, so that when I close Brief, Firefox does not close.
The evident reason is that Brief opens itself in a new tab when there is a web page in the other(s) tab(s). Is the tab is that of a blank page, Brief opens in the same tab. Is there some way to prevent it ?
