Thank you for will being to use significant Add-on.
However, it is Version 1.44 and there is a problem.
I am using Namoroka/3.6a2pre. The layout of an optional screen collapses in Version 1.44. There is no problem in Version 1.43. Moreover, the problem is not in Shiretoko3.54pre as for Version 1.44 either. When it is Namoroka/3.6a2pre, it becomes a layout that an optional screen falls into disorder.

This review is for a previous version of the add-on (1.44).

Just once resizize the window to fit it's content

The next time BetterPrivacy should open the window with the correct size. Otherwise please visit my homepage to file a bugreport there. It would be a good idea to upload a screen-shot to some free image host so that I can see the layout.

1984 - should be expanded to kill all web trackers besides cookies when you leave a site! Problem, though what could be more American than cherry pie? Most of us select these with much fear. We need an outside (of the industry) group of coders to vet the sourcecode. It's in my kit, but I'm still afraid which side anybody is on these days.

Indispensable. I wish the AMO editors could keep up, it took me a while to discover there were later versions!

TV Guide problem Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Thank you for this extension which takes care of a major privacy hole in firefox. I used to just manually delete the horde of files in the flash directory every once in a while.

A couple of notes:
1. If you enable the 'Disable DOMStorage' feature, it will break the listings grid at the TV Guide site (www.tvguide.com) so that you cannot change the date or time of the listings. I imagine it might break some other sites as well, so try disabling it if you have a weird problem. Took me a while to figure this one out.
2. If you enable the feature to delete the default flash cookie, you will also lose the flash global settings stored there (camera, microphone, storage). It would be nice if BP could modify the file instead of deleting it to remove just the site-specific stuff while preserving the global settings, though I'm not sure if that's possible.

This review is for a previous version of the add-on (1.41).

Please install the latest version (1.41) from my homepage.

See FAQ, first answer, on update problem details!
Newer BetterPrivacy versions use another method to get rid of DOM storage data, thus there is no conflict with web-pages anymore. The latest development version even removed the "Disable DOM storage" setting completely.

Major BetterPrivacy enhancements would be needed to make Flash cookie modifications possible. This would also mean that BetterPrivacy would grow to approximately the double of the current size. In my opinion this is not appropriate for an addon whose business is just cookie deletion. I understand that some users are wondering that BetterPrivacy has a size of 24 KiloByte while it is possible to allow session-LSO deletion by using a batch script of less than 50 Bytes.

Good but... Rated 4 out of 5 stars

...in the first run spawns a bash process witch gets caught in a symlink loop. In Kubuntus' ~/.wine to be exact. There are symlinks witch point to My (Pictures|Documents|Videos|.*). Moving the .wine directory makes Fx startup instantly.

Please update to the latest version which is NOT 1.29

For details see FAQ on the main site. That issue is fixed in newer versions.

Does a great job.

But, need an icon to add to the toolbar or sidebar. So, will have easy access.

This review is for a previous version of the add-on (1.41).

It has a toolbar icon!

Why don't you use the latest version (1.41) ???
Goto page https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/6623,
scroll to bottom, click 'View all versions', install latest version.

As more folks have begun to realize that poorly managed cookies are a security threat as well as a privacy threat, and have taken steps to guard against them, many companies who have no respect for our wishes have gone to LSOs. I have observed a sharp uptick in their number recently. And you should know that Adobe has no interest in allowing you to guard against them. Even if you go to Adobe's "secret control panel" and disable them, sites can still store them. It seems that after you deny the LSO three times, it is then stored in spite of your selecting deny !!! Privacy aside, if you don't want to discover that someone hijacked your online banking session, install this add on. It is ONE of the steps you must take to have reasonable browser security.

i cry tears of joy over this extension, it has freed me from the manual drudgery of cleaning out flash cookies. works as advertised, thanks for this netticat.

Installed this addon and it works great. I installed version 1.4.1 from the homepage that is listed on the BetterPrivacy main page. (I'm using Firefox 3.5.2.)

So far, I used the product defaults (as the readme file says...) and it deleted 140 Super Cookies (LSOs) and I've had no problems accessing all the sites that I normally use.

An add-on that does a great job and transparently for the user! Just perfect.

Great, could be better. Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Nice add on. Time to educate users about the evils of flash cookies.

But this add on would be better if it gave the type of control that the Objection add on had. I would like to remove each Flash Cookie without having removing the SYS.SOL file that has my settings.

Thanks for the add on.

I think it is better...

First please update to the latest version which currently is 1.41 and available on my homepage. In BP 1.41 select your sys.sol file and press 'Prevent automatic LSO deletion'. So this LSO will be protected and not deleted. Note that any LSO's in subfolders of a protected folder are protected too. Thus you do not need to exclude every single LSO. There also is an option to edit the paths of protected folders.

This is another nice extension to increase one's personal privacy. However, cannot use the last two update versions. The Options box does not work past 1.38 with the installed extensions in FF 3.5.1. Don't want to register at author's website for support comments, one reply stated must be another extension causing problem? Must be different coding in v1.39 or 1.40?

I wanted to take a moment to say thank you for your creative work and excellent addons for Firefox 3.5.1, currently using AskFforSanitize 1.8, BetterPrivacy 1.40, RightToClick 1.3, StayInOnlineMode 1.0. All of which are pure genius. I appreciate the fact that you have taken the time to create these needed tools. Each if uniquely functional and makes a difference in my browsing safety and functionality.

How could you not use this one.....?
