Good extension, needs update Rated 5 out of 5 stars

I remember using this addon in FF2 and I loved it back then. It would be nice if this extension could be updated for FF3.5

Great but needs update Rated 5 out of 5 stars

I guess someone couldn't wait. The Autocomplete add-on extension has been forked to the Cootua Autocomplete at https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/8659 and is FF 3.1x ready. hoowever that addon does not work for me in FF 3.1b3 and the Cootua website is under construction. The user can enable and disable bookmark, history or optional search of the Cootua Community. At least it's compatible with 3.1x

So after uninstalling the Cootua forked version, I re-enabled Autocomplete Manager and it works just fine with FF 3.1b3. Now I need to evaluate it against Peers at https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/6589 or similar tools.

Very good add-on that gives you control over the location bar. And a history manager that should be a default part of FF.

Great add-on, works on FF3 Rated 5 out of 5 stars

This is a great add-on, I visit a lot of sites so using my history leaves me drowning in a flood of suggestions. I discovered this add-on on FF2, and was a fan right away. In FF3, I thought the new awesomebar would do what I wanted, but it didn't. So, I installed Nightly Tester tools and was able to use Autocomplete Manager again!

Excellent in FF2. Lost on FF3? Rated 3 out of 5 stars

The functionality of this addon is worth 5+ stars, BUT...We have been promised an update to match FF3 requirements for...(wow!) a mighty long time now. Is this addon dead on FF3? It would b a real shame cuz the idea is good and for my time with FF2 it worked without any major glitches. It definitely up the stakes of the intuitive address bar.

The next update can't come soon enough. Incidentally it was exactly one year to the day that this addon was updated. Amazing!!...

One of the best extensions out there, but not compatible with the current version of FF.

To the developer...please, please, please adjust for FF3.

update on its way

I am currently working on an updated version for Firefox 3. Sorry for the delay.

Firefox 3 doesn't really incorporate all the features of this add-on. Here is an example of what I mean:

A lot of websites use the www before the domain name (ex. www.yahoo.com). However, when I type an address into the address bar, I don't type the www. I just type yahoo.com.

In Firefox, it doesn't find the matching URL, even though I've looked at Yahoo's homepage many times and it's in the history. And editing the about:config to set "browser.urlbar.autoFill" to true (as some people claim) does NOT do the trick.

With this extension (in Firefox 2), though, I could type just yahoo.com and it would autocomplete it for me.

An updated version for this extension would be great!

A useful extension for Firefox 2 users.

Firefox 3 users don't need this extension since the features of this extensions have now completely been integrated into the core of FF3.

not exactly true

This is not exactly true. Firefox 3 changes the both sorting algorithm and the presentation of entries on the popup, yet still only offers a single option to users. On the other hand, this extension enables users to pick and choose the sorting criterion and popup layout they like. The upcoming upgrade for Firefox will offer even more options, such as using the old sorting algorithm along with the old popup layout.

Suggestion Rated 4 out of 5 stars

Please would you think about adding the following feature:

Matching against names of ScrapBook items
https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/427

However, thanks for developing such a useful add-on!

too specific?

Hmm, this sounds like something specific to the ScrapBook extension. Maybe I could develop something more general that works with other data sources as well (e.g., delicious, Google Bookmarks)?

Very comfortable Tool. But in the new Version 2.3 is a Viewing-Bug. If I open the Adressbar (Pulldown-Menu) there is now a Border around the related Links.

working on it

A fix for this will be included in upcoming version 2.4.

Thanks for reporting the bug.

I love it Rated 4 out of 5 stars

This extension has made my my usage of Firefox vastly simpler and more intuitive. Information that used to take 50-60 seconds and a certain amount of human effort to find, now takes less than five seconds in the worst case, and my computer does the thinking for me.

I am currently working on the upgrade for Firefox 3.

Great extension, pleasy FF3 Rated 4 out of 5 stars

This is really a great extension, but it woukd be very good, if only the typed letters would be bold in the mtaching urls... looking forward to this feature.
And please add support for FF3 (or does it already work?)

upgrade on its way

I'll have to use a richlistbox for the popup to only bold the matching letters. This should be included in the upgrade for Firefox 3.

Wonderful Rated 4 out of 5 stars

Not having autocomplete was why i stuck with IE for so long...great add-on!

Is there any way that the name I give to the bookmark can be on the left, or have an option to not show the URL?

Thank you again for a great add-on!

former yes, latter no

There is an option to swap the address and title columns, but it is currently not possible to hide the URL.
