Works with annoying bugs Rated 1 out of 5 stars

I confirm the reverse bug reported by [HYBRID BEING] and slickerweb when a window is restored (from crash).
Some times, the new tab is not opened right after the current one, especially when you had closed few tabs before.
Since I remove this extension, Firefox stopped crashing each days.
I replace it with Tab Control: https://addons.mozilla.org/fr/firefox/addon/tab-control/

Fa il suo lavoro quasi sempre correttamente Rated 4 out of 5 stars

Consigliata.

Works well in current Nightly - but not in Private browsing mode Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Great add-on! Works perfectly in Nightly on Windows 7 both 32 and 64-bit OS and browsers. Sadly doesn't work in Nightly Private mode, which I prefer to have enabled as my startup default. Doesn't work in Nightly e10s Electrolysis mode, but no surprise there as that's just been resurrected. Can this add-on can be made to work in Nightly Private mode? Many thanks.

Not always Right Rated 3 out of 5 stars

This program often opens tabs oddly. It seems even less predictable that firefox's base opening order for tabs. I still use it but it seems to be doing it more and more often. I hope this is fixed.

Suggestion Rated 4 out of 5 stars

I give this 4-stars, not 5 because there is no configuration. What would be nice is to have an option so when you click on a tab it doesn't immediately open to the right, but if you hold down the CTRL key, it does.

Or, you could have it by default open to the right and you hold down the CTRL key to have it replace the same tab you are on.

Currently it just always opens a new tab to the right, and for some Javascript, that requires me to disable this plugin in order to have it run correctly.

Confirm the bug by [HYBRID BEING] in the very latest version of Firefox where if you kill Firefox and reopen it, on the restore tab that appears, choosing to restore brings back all tabs in REVERSE order.

And sometimes when opening a new tab it doesn't open right next the the active tab but rather one tab away from the active tab.

And when opening external links from another application, it doesn't open next to the active tab but instead at the very end of the list.

If these issues will be fixed this would be an AMAZING add-on, but for now it's a headache.

Found bug with tab order of recenly closed and restored windows. Open new window and several tabs in it (ex:Google, Facebook, Newgrounds, Wikipedia), close and restore it through "History > Recently Closed Windows". All tabs but the first one became reversed: Google, Wikipedia, Newgrounds, Facebook. Same happens in Session Manager extension when appending loaded session to the current one. Using Firefox 16.

Very nice... just like Chrome did.. hehe.. * I'm a last year lost Firefox fan due to Firefox's crashing issues last year and followed by massive updates. I migrating to Chrome and finding it better in some way. But if Firefox communities gonna catch up, like providing more non-restart add-ons like this, maybe I'll back. :)

It's not the XPI file that is 650 kb, it's the expanded version of the extension that appears in the /extensions/ folder of my profile.

Doesn't do much but does it well.

I also tested some of the problems previous reviewers mentioned, I can't repeat any of them.

I'm running Mac OS X 10.6.? using Firefox 13.0.

It's a bummer that the add-on is so good. I like to give an extra star for restartless add-ons but I can't give it 6 stars so I'll contribute less to the average rating than I'd like.

Could you please update for Firefox 5? I updated my browser about 10 minutes ago, and am already missing this addon!

You sir, are a genius. Finally, a solution to my ctrl+t annoyances of opening a new tab on the far far far right. Firefox, why cant you make this an option built in!

Does what it says on the tin Rated 4 out of 5 stars

Great add-on and it does exactly what it promises, however sadly the only taps I'd like to open next to the current tab are new tabs not invoked by clicking the new tab button or from external links. So basically only when I click control+t or file+'new tab'.

Also seeing issues with opening new windows on the mac FF4 RC, Always Right 1.1. New windows open, but tabs are no longer on top, and don't look right. You cannot drag tabs out of windows, or between windows, or open a local html file. I like the concept, but these need to be fixed before I'll use it.

I've experienced the same problem as Wemmick. I didn't notice it at first because I rarely use new windows now, but it is annoying to have to turn this extension off for popups and things.

Great, but there's a small problem.

I know this isn't the place for bug reports, but I'm putting it here since I can't find any contact info.
Anyway, I'm running on Firefox 4.0b12 on Windows 7, and right clicking and selecting "open in new window" no longer works if this addon is enabled. Instead, it only opens a blank page. Right clicking on a tab and selecting "move to new window" also does not work. Disabling the addon fixes the problem.

Always Right = 5 Star!.. dietrich, its so hard to disagree with such well founded logic. I could never imagine tab browsing without knowing I'd always be right on where that next tab would open up at, ie right next to the current selected one.

Its a shame people who develop mainstream web browsers seem to fail at providing even the most basic browsing functionality right from the start! What sort of noob wants a new tab opened up at the far end of the tab bar, across who knows how many existing opened tabs. Or any other sort of fail slowflow browsing technique; like a new tab opening order that is based on computed url strings etc...which in most cases the uncertainty of predictability would be too high for the mere human mind to bother with.

Anyway as awesome as I find seeing this addon that has graced the addons website with one sole purpose to get right!. Firefox has for a long time had another certain popular extension called 'Tab Mix Plus', an essential for any tab junky connoisseur.. Where one of its options is: [Open new tabs next to current one], along with [Open other tabs next to current one] .. these options are sadly off by default (the developer has probably gone nuts), but at least the options are provided to get things 'right'.

Still anybody who wants to get into the browsing habbit of being Always Right, this addon is a damn good start.

Does what it says it does.

Would be nice to only have this affect empty tabs (about:blank), as Firefox already has insertRelatedAfterCurrent for tabs opened directly from a page, and this seems to alter some behavior with that (but I don't think the tab's 'open' event has access to the URL, as it fires as soon as a tab is opened, so they all use "about:blank"...)
