Meet the Add-Art Developer

Why was Add-Art created?

When I discovered AdBlock Plus I was delighted. But it wasn't long after I thought "wouldn't it be great if there was art in the place of the ads instead of instead of blank space?" I wanted to see new things I hadn't seen before, so having curators select it was important, even if I didn't always like what they selected.

I by no means had the skills to pull this off alone, so I organized a bunch of smart people together to make it happen. You can read about that at add-art.org.

What's next for Add-Art

We'd like to have people (institutions, individuals, whoever) be able to curate a channel of art for add-art that users can select from. So you could select from the Museum of Modern Art's Add-Art feed or some guy in his garage - it would be up to you. And you could change if you didn't like the work you saw. The code is close... and it's on github if you want to take a look: http://github.com/slambert/Add-Art
