Must Have, Can Block Almost Anything Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Everyone has this add-on. And there is a good reason why.
With ABP, you can block just about anything but plain text. If there are any images that just make you go crazy, block it. I simply can't live without this. After using this for a long time, it would be hard to drop it and experience the true Web.
Remember though, some sites are supported by their advertising. Be sure to disable ABP on sites that you wish to support. That's the only reason why anybody wouldn't like this add-on. Other than that, there is no reason I can think of why someone wouldn't use this.

Hello, i really enjoy this plugin, but it seems to be incompatibel with miranda.. I am using the Miranda Pack from www.miranda-pack.com and my Firefox gets empty contextmenus, a strange looking border line over my status bar and all that strange stuff.. i think its a miranda plugin that cauzes the icomapbility.. would be nice if you can check this out and help me.

regards,
thomas

I Love ABP... in Moderation, of course. Rated 5 out of 5 stars

ABP is terrific!
I Love it. That said - I certainly don't want to do anything that could potentially snowball into The End of Free Internet. I use it - with care and in moderation.
Either way, don't blame any apocalypse on me ... I don't click on internet ads. I research, read reviews, compare, look into a company's practices etc. before I buy.

Are you serious Rated 1 out of 5 stars

Fair enough, blocking popups, but blocking banners?

If you want to block in-site ads, why don't you aim for the ones that take over the whole website until you click on something, or disabling flash ads cas flash is a slow piece of crap

But banners? If we start blocking adverts that have been placed appropriately, the advertising agencies will just find more annoying ways to display there ads, but I guess you weren't around before pop-up blockers were invented

Shame on me Rated 5 out of 5 stars

I never realized that when I surf past advertisements on television I am destroying free TV. Just like using this add-on is destroying free Internet.

Thanks a lot for this. There was a obnoxious talking banner on a site I use a lot, and it was driving me batshit. I am...so relieved.

Замечательное дополнение, в паре с BlockSite практически перекрываеш проход всего, что так назойливо лезет на страницу.
Советую всем кому не все равно на что смотреть

Fighting ads is a liberty we must fight for Rated 5 out of 5 stars

I think this add-on is really good, as advertising is a real plague, as well as visual pollution in our cities, than, reallys, a traffic disturber on the net.
Yes, I claim it, as I am still working with a rather old Mac computer: the ads are a real problem, as they lengthen websurfing at a point which is not bearable (several minutes for a charging a single page, mind you).
Anyway, ads make the web very ugly looking, are strictly useless, and make the system consuming more and more energy, for these ads are long to charge each time you go from one page to another.
Let's claim that we are not, we do not want to be consumers, but citizens. Thus, it is time to find something else to publish sites - as for myself, I do prefer pay than having monsterous images that make my OS crash or contribute to use more and more energy, for I'd stay much longer on the web, because of the refreshing these pages that would last at least five minutes each.
And as I am, don't you mind, a bad consumer, and thus a good citizen, I do not want to buy another computer untill mine is completely kaputt.
So, for me, citizen - I do insist on this status - advertising is a crime against the environment, adblocking is a citizen duty. Do not get fooled.
