Bye Bye AdvertBan ! Rated 1 out of 5 stars

After all the upgrade popups I see, this is no longer in my list of favorite addons. Also I see no actions on the issues reported at http://code.google.com/p/ad-ban-extensions/issues/list
Time to switch to something better.

This review is for a previous version of the add-on (2.2.0).

Set the button to text "AB" instead of the image. This would pickup colors from any persona and also reduce the size of the addon

This review is for a previous version of the add-on (1.8.2).

This will be implemented in the next AdBan version. See http://code.google.com/p/ad-ban-extensions/issues/detail?id=26 .

v1.8.1 does not block Ads on Firefox 8 with compatibility check disabled. Also the "Buy" popups are too frequent. I think its time to move back to ABP.

This review is for a previous version of the add-on (1.8.1).

v1.8.1 isn't compatible with Firefox 8. Try 1.8.2beta1 instead - https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/adban/versions/1.8.2beta1 .As for "Buy" popup, could you visit the http://www.advertban.com/ff/user_status with AdBan switched on and send a user id from this page to support@advertban.com ? This way the popup could be suppressed for you, since you started using AdBan before June 2011.

v1.6 causes issues with Youtube videos. Please see to this asap.

This review is for a previous version of the add-on (1.5.1).

Big thanks for the discovered bug! It really saved me a lot of time. The bug has been fixed in v1.6.2 . The corresponding patch is available at http://code.google.com/p/ad-ban-extensions/source/detail?r=281 .

Update maxversion to 4.2

This review is for a previous version of the add-on (1.5.1).

Done in http://code.google.com/p/ad-ban-extensions/source/detail?r=239 . The change will be incorporated into the next AdBan version.

Working great.
One suggestion - don't add the Report Ads button by default. This is very rarely needed.

This review is for a previous version of the add-on (1.3.2).

The 'Report ads' button will be removed from the navigation toolbar as soon as AdBan's ad blocking filter database will become better than the most popular AdBlock Plus' ad filter lists. In the mean time you can remove the button yourself - see http://code.google.com/p/ad-ban-extensions/issues/detail?id=1 or https://ad-ban.appspot.com/ff/help#how_to_shrink_report_ads_button for the solution.

The new icon should have transparent background. Looks weird on FF4.

This review is for a previous version of the add-on (1.3.0).

Done in v1.3.2 - https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/adban/versions/?page=1#version-1.3.2 (this version is awaiting for review). Unfortunately I have no graphical designer skills in order to create more appealing icon.

Please use a more appealing icon. Also you might replace the report ads button with this icon. Still waiting for the next release.

The updated icon still doesn't appear in the add-on manager using v1.3.

This review is for a previous version of the add-on (1.2.3).

This should be fixed in the next version. See http://code.google.com/p/ad-ban-extensions/source/detail?r=118 for details.

Show an additional "block" option on all unblocked flash items like Adblock plus did.

This review is for a previous version of the add-on (1.2.3).

Unfortunately this feature doesn't fit AdBan ideology - "no complex and dangerous settings", so it is unlikely it will be implemented in the near future. The "block" option can completely break all sites if it is improperly used. There is an AdBlock Plus for those people, who know how to use properly the "block" option. As for the AdBan, if you see flash ads, image ads or text ads, then just click the 'Report ads' button - and these ads will be removed by people, who know how to do it in an optimal way.

Keep up the good work Rated 5 out of 5 stars

When and where was version 1.2.1 released! This page was not accessible until sometime before. You might want to check out the statistics for add-on usage. Please add an icon for the Add-on Manager that suites the purpose of the add-on.

This review is for a previous version of the add-on (1.2.2).

Version 1.2.1 was released a day ago, but it has been rejected by reviewers, because it contained a bug with global javascript namespace pollution. It looks like the add-on is removed from public listing when it is rejected, so version 1.2.1 wasn't visible here. I fixed the bug (see the corresponding changelist at http://code.google.com/p/ad-ban-extensions/source/detail?r=101 ) and released version 1.2.2. Hope it will pass review now ;)

As for the add-on icon, it'll be ready in the next version.

"Report banners" in longer(wider) and more confusing than "Report ads", please revert back.

This review is for a previous version of the add-on (1.2.0).

The 'Report ads' text has been returned back in v1.2.1.

"Report banners" in longer(wider) and more confusing than "Report ads", please revert back.

This review is for a previous version of the add-on (1.1.0).

Thanks for the good question!

It was planned creating personalized pages and settings on the AdBan site for each user. But download statistics at https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/statistics/addon/268878/ reveals that 90% of users, who downloaded the add-on, doesn't use it. It looks like these people are afraid of signing in during the add-on setup because of privacy concerns. So mandatory sign in step will be disabled in the next version of AdBan.

On Windows, the toolbar button does not have the inset look when clicked upon. The report ad window is too wide and should be reduced in width. Also ": on" part may be removed when it is active. Why were my previous reviews deleted?

This review is for a previous version of the add-on (1.0.0).

Sdrocking, thanks for your comment. The toolbar button look will be updated in the next version. The "report ad" dialog is re-sizable, so you can change its' size if you want. In the next release this dialog will have saner default width.
As for your previous reviews, it looks like they were deleted automatically together with previous AdBan versions, since they were attached to these particular versions. I won't delete previous versions anymore, so reviews for old AdBan versions will be preserved in the future.
