author expects too much from users Rated 1 out of 5 stars
Have you noticed, that the author of this add-on is quick on "answering" any negative comments that may be on here, yet anything else may be let go?
I have been in contact with the author in serveral occasions about serveral matters. Let me just say, until this add-on matures to the extent that we expect, then there is NO WAY it is worth ANY amount of money.
So what if it is built around a new advanced technology!
So what if its nano seconds faster than the other advert blockers!
So what if its this and that! IT DOESNT WORK VERY WELL!!
I honestly can tell you, it does work on a 128MB 200Mhz laptop, just like AdBlock+ is capable of!
Fact is dude, the selfish speculation attitude towards even asking people to "contribute" to this immature pile of rubbish has just made me realise, I am wasting my time even trying to get around your closed minded coding ethics. To think I used to "adore" this little add-on..
Lets just say to the people that have paid - good luck if you ever have to reinstall.. I am a beta-tester on MANY things, and this little add-on has already had me contacting the author many times because it refuses to stay "paid for".. Me thinks you should try something else.. Im def going back to AB+ ;)!

Could you be more specific on what do you expect from AdBan?
> IT DOESNT WORK VERY WELL!!
Could you explain why do you think it doesn't work very well?
> I am wasting my time even trying to get around your closed minded coding ethics
What do you mean under 'closed minded coding ethics'? AdBan's source code is open source - http://code.google.com/p/ad-ban-extensions/source/browse/ - so everybody can investigate the code, contribute to the code and even make a fork for free (thanks to BSD license - http://code.google.com/p/ad-ban-extensions/source/browse/trunk/LICENSE ).
> Lets just say to the people that have paid - good luck if you ever have to reinstall..
I agree that the currently used scheme for tracking AdBan payments isn't perfect. It is based on Firefox profiles ( http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Profiles ). That's why AdBan asks to pay per each installation in distinct profiles. But, luckily, the absolute majority of Firefox users don't know how to create and use multiple profiles, so this problem won't disturb them. Firefox profiles survive both Firefox's and AdBan's re-installations and upgrades. They even survive operating system upgrade and re-installation if you don't delete documents and settings in user's home folder. So your premium support for AdBan won't disappear on these events.
Power users like you can always contact us in order to quickly resolve the problem with multiple profiles if it will arise. See http://www.advertban.com/ff/help#pay_per_instance . For example, see http://code.google.com/p/ad-ban-extensions/issues/detail?id=22 as a proof that such problems are resolved very quickly.
