Fine with current Aurora Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Simple and efficient, works very well on my aurora from yesterday.

Broken now Rated 3 out of 5 stars

So, I just updated my firefox to version 29.0.1. And now the little icon which this addon is supposed to display, keeps dissapearing. The only way I can get it back each time, is to reinstall the addon. It's to bad, because this addon was incredibly useful to me when it worked.

On a side note... I'm REALLY starting to get fed up with the way that firefox breaks half my addons every damned time there is an update.

The toolbar element where 4or6 installs the toolbar icon no longer exists. As a result that icon can no longer be shown. The address bar icon still works fine though. You can make that icon show manually by setting 'extensions.4or6@hunen_net.addressicon' to 'true' in 'about:config'.

I intend to update 4or6 if I can find the time to do so. A very demanding office life has prevented this so far. And, by the way, I fully agree with your side note.

Simple, informative, has nice little features - just what I needed. Seems to have some problems with IDN names though (i.e. http://www.sö - not showing remote system IP-s).

Does what it says on the tin and works fine even on latest nightly. Exactly the functionality I needed.

The only worked addons Rated 5 out of 5 stars

show web IP on FF19. Nice!

Very useful Rated 5 out of 5 stars

I need to have the dynamic ipv4 address of my PC in order to access its files from my Android tablet, & this add-on provides that. Works perfectly for what I need.

Addon ONLY displays if the site has an AAAA record. It does NOT accurately detect if IPv6 is actually being used to connect.

To see this for yourself, go to a website that you control (not posting mine for obvious reasons), insert a PHP script displaying the visitor's IP address in the footer, and visit the site. Even if your IPv4 address is shown, the addon will still think you are connected vis v6, which you obviously aren't.

This review is for a previous version of the add-on (1.0.1).

Your observation is basically correct. There will normally not be a problem though: a discrepancy between the protocol used to load the page and the icon displayed should only happen in case of a network connectivity problem or a DNS misconfiguration.

Edit: version 1.2.0 shows the actual protocol used to load a page.
