My Reviews

OK, but more powerful alternatives exist Rated 3 out of 5 stars

I second the opinion of previous reviewers: while for some the crude one-size-fits-all approach might suffice, there are many users who are more discerning and need a finer degree of control. (Two stars dropped to reflect the needs of these users to what otherwise might be a worthwhile addon.)

For those who are currently missing support for a black- / whitelisting feature etc you may want to consider using the NoScript addon and stop sites (after a certain timeout) via a so-called "Surrogate Script".

--- EDIT (in response to developer's comment) ---

My perspective: I wanted to "killspin" (might have preferred "stopspin", but catchy name anyway) a specific website after two seconds. That is, all the fuss about one single website (which I check regularly). Your addon might be lightweight, but is literally overkill if all I'm interested in is to tackle a single specific website. For websites which are not part of my daily intake _and_ misbehave, hitting the Esc key does the trick well enough.

But all this is just one single user's perspective...

Session Manager

Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Session Mgr rocks. Period.

@"mental-lurg": there is not only a forum, but an actively maintained one, too:

No idea which tree you're barking up on, but if you just want to rant: you're right, this is the wrong place for that.

Remove Temporarily

poifect :D Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Fills a gap by allowing the user to create new ones, viz, temporary blocking of "stuff" in an Aardvark fashion (for printing and / or viewing purposes) neatly integrated into the new FF Page Inspector interface. Fabulous!

FINALLY I found the cause for FF_9 crashes, puh. I even went through the ORDEAL of creating a new profile, exporting / importing most settings, the whole spiel, and now - by happenstance, stumbled across the root cause: turning on thumbnail caching caused the crashes, and Mariner's & rguer45's comments confirmed my suspicion that I'm not alone out there.

One of my essential addons. Has been rock-solid for years. 4-stars due to crisis described above. I'm even over the fact that so far Panorama and Showcase complement each other (rather than one doing the whole job). Thanks and much awaiting a FIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIX. (but again: HUGE sigh of relief to have found the cause-of-crash)

had I only known earlier..............;-/
