My Reviews

Download Flash and Video

Rated 3 out of 5 stars

Worked great for a few days, then all of a sudden stopped working. Closing and restarting browser made no difference. Clicking the arrow to download a video did absolutely nothing. I could click the other arrow and "copy to clipboard" (the download URL) but the main one for downloading a video produced no download prompt in Firefox like it had been a few hours prior in the same browsing session (and had been reliably working for several days). I also tried disabling/enabling the add-on, but that made no difference. Only other option for troubleshooting would be to restart the PC, but that is asking FAR too much for a simple add-on to function, I shouldn't have to restart my PC each time one add-on decides to act up. So I immediately uninstalled it and searched for a new youtube downloader to take it's place.

This review is for a previous version of the add-on (3.0.8).

MinimizeToTray

If the Mozilla developers had any brains and actually used their software, they would incorporate this add-on into every version of Thunderbird as a default function. Sadly they are clueless and still haven't caught on, even on version 13.0

I don't know how people use Thunderbird without this add-on, minimizing to tray is the ONLY option as far as I am concerned when it comes to an email desktop program. No accidental closing, less clutter on the main task bar, and you still get all the notifications from the tray and can manually/force retrieve your emails if you want with a simple right-click command from the tray!

Even the new Minimize to Tray: Revived is very flawed and doesn't work nearly as well as this add-on does, which is a shame as this add-on is only good to Thunderbird 2.0... which has many vulnerabilities now.

I hope this developer re-creates this add-on for the later versions of Thunderbird, because it might just be the best, simplest, and most practical add-on I have ever seen in the entire Mozilla lineup.

Flawless would be an understatement. I have never had any problems with this add-on, and it has always worked without fail. From the very beginning it has done everything I ever wanted it to.

Exactly what I wanted! Ever since Firefox version 4.0 came out, the URL status/tooltip has been "floating" above the add-on bar instead of being integrated into it like in previous Firefox versions. It's annoying and is a waste of space.

Well, with this add-on not only do I get the URL status/tooltip integrated back into the bottom bar where it should be, but the classic green progress meter is back as well! Looks just like my Firefox version 3.5.2 status bar!

This review is for a previous version of the add-on (2012.04.21.13.1-signed).

Thank you so much! One of the most annoying things about upgrading to the newer versions of Firefox was that they moved the "Open in new Tab" context above the "Open In new Window" context in the right-click menu.

Since I was so used to clicking the second line for a new tab, anytime I used the new versions of Firefox I was always accidentally opening new windows instead of new tabs. It was extremely frustrating, and I hated Mozilla for changing that on us.

But with this nifty add-on, I can switch it back to the way I like it!! Shame I have to install an add-on to get the browser back to the way I like it from previous Firefox versions, but at least it can be fixed.
