Go Parent Folder

Still a very useful addon Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Still a very useful addon for anyone that uses FF bookmarks. I could not use FF without it. One suggestion for a new feature, add a right-click context menu item to the urlbar search autocomplete rich listbox. I would have followed the link mentioned here, but is broken for me and there is no admin contact.

The first question I asked when I started using multiple profiles was, when looking at a FF window how do I know what profile is in use. I am happy that I found profilist at It adds a panel to the new Firefox Panel menu which shows the current profile. When you hover over this name it expands to show all profiles and "Create New Profile". Not only does it provide a clear visual of what profile is in use, but a user can easily create or use an existing profile to test userchrome, addons, or bring up a browser for a specifc purpose. As far as addons go, this is a need not a want.

I agree with the delete/rename feedback. I use the Create option but I manually rename and delete at this time. Maybe:
1) Change "Create New Profile" to: "Manage Profiles"
2) Only show the profiles (like they work now), and add a right-click on Profilist profile panels to Create, Copy, Rename, Delete
3) "Create New Profile" takes the entire row, divide it up: Create | Copy | Rename | Delete
4) Divide each profile row up: Profile_Name | Copy | Rename | Delete

I like #2 if it is possible to contain a context menu to Profilist panel. One, right-click is common UI and feels natural, and two, it takes less space (one less panel row) without giving up anything and it makes these features very clear. Otherwise, #1.

Menu Wizard

A wizard of a tool to edit menus Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Had another menu editor and keyboard shortcuts addon installed, and replaced both of those addons with this one, Menu Wizard. A lot of potential here. It is current and is being actively developed today. If you like to customize your menus, hide, move, add separators it does it easily. It optionally adds a shortcut or an icon to the bottom of a menu to show what has changed on a menu. The icon does not appear if no changes to that specific menu.

Addon List Dumper (restartless)

Rated 4 out of 5 stars

This is one of those tools you do not use often, but is extremely useful when needed. I used Extension List Dumper. It was a quick and easy way to nicely document your add-ons. This is the replacement. It would be perfect if the background was a solid color and there was a simple menu item (Menu -> Tools). It ends up on the navbar. I remove the navbar, so I ended up configuring and moving it some place else. I wouldn't use the button at all, if there was a text menu option.

Disable Sync

Rated 4 out of 5 stars

This addon removes the Sync Tab in FF's preferences. I currently implement that in userChrome. This addon would be a 5, if it disabled and eliminated all things sync, including the "Sign into Sync" on the FF new panel-based menu (3 horizontal lines icon), and ensured any sync config options were disabled.

Link And Forminfo

Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Was using, links-and-forms, but switched to link-and-forminfo because it was being maintained and had some additional features like sort columns. Very nice.

Customizable Shortcuts

Rated 5 out of 5 stars

A nice looking Shortcuts tab/window is added to FF's Preferences. If you want to use your keyboard efficiently and be able to review and change shortcuts this is a must have. Basic stuff for any modern UI.

Tiny Menu

Rated 5 out of 5 stars

For me, this is a must have. I like the tiny menu on the left-hand side. At the top of FF I have 2 horizontal bars; First, tiny menu | location bar | navigational buttons (must be on the right!), and second, tabs (thanks Classic Theme Restorer). I do move objects from the nav bar to the menu bar, and eliminate the nav bar in userChrome.css: #nav-bar {display: none !important;}. As of FF 33.1.1, it still works. I hope the addon continues.

Works. An alternative to typing
about:about in the address bar.

All-in-One Sidebar

Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Everything in the above "About this Add-on" is why I love this addon.
I delayed upgrading because I did not want to lose this addon. There is no FF w/out AIOS. It is my go-to place to review info or store tools. All my tools are on the vertical toolbar, I open bookmarks, addons, page info, etc in the sidebar --- quick, easy, reliable, unobtrusive.

Classic Theme Restorer

Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Makes FF UI user-friendly again --- simple, clean, well structured, as needed by the user. This addon truly puts the user in control of their environment making them more productive and happier. I look forward to the continual development and hope it gets adopted by Mozilla. Thank you.

All-in-One Sidebar

Rated 5 out of 5 stars

One of the first addons I install on every Firefox. Creates a clean FF interface and makes accessing bookmarks, web info, tools, ... super convenient. It truly is an addon that considers the user and empowers them. This easily has to be one of the top 5 addons of all times. And the developer is very nice.

Close Tabs to the Right

Right-click a tab and select "Close Tabs to the Right" Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Some of my FireFox add-ons are no longer around/working. I needed to find replacements. It took me some searching Mozilla FireFox add-ons, but I found "Close Tabs to the Right". Just a nice simple add-on that closes tabs from the tab context menu. It is amazing how the little things make all the difference. Thanks!

Adds status bar back to FireFox Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Mozilla removed the status bar in Version 4 of Firefox. "Status-4-Evar" adds it back on the Add-on bar. I use the "Download Statusbar" and removed it here with no problems. Status on the left, add-on buttons on the right. Nice. Thanks.

Go Parent Folder

Right-click and Go to a bookmark's parent folder Rated 5 out of 5 stars

"Go Parent Folder" add-on is a straightforward, reliable little tool that helps me quickly maneuver within my bookmarks on a daily basis. My bookmarks are well organized within folders and are displayed within the "All-in-One Sidebar". When I want to find bookmarks, I'll do a search in the "All-in-One Sidebar", right-click a bookmark and select "Go Parent Folder", and I'm positioned right on the bookmark within the expanded bookmark folder --- quick, efficient, and provides a nice solution to improve the usefulness of FireFox bookmarks without annoying the user. If you need to find a bookmark's location within all your bookmarks, "Go Parent Folder" will do it with a simple right-click.

All-in-One Sidebar

Save space. Be more efficient. Rated 5 out of 5 stars

I like a minimalist browser UI, so along with "Tiny Menu" and selected "Custom Toolbar Buttons", the "All-in-One Sidebar" (AIOS) becomes my main focal point for tools and info within FireFox. Vertical space is a premium. I need the status bar at the bottom (FireFox version 4+ requires "Status-r-Evar"), tabs and a toolbar at the top, and everything else in "AOIS".

There are multiple ways that AIOS can help. First, there is the toolbar. It contains buttons to functions and other add-ons that I use often and I want to access quickly. Second, there is the sidebar switch, which with one click "AIOS" sidebar expands and collapses. And last, within the expanded sidebar, I can view info about FireFox, the current web page, or the output from various other add-on's. I would be remiss if I left this comment without saying, "AIOS" puts the user in control of their environment, it works flawlessly, and the author is very responsive.

Configuration Mania

Great way to Configure FireFox Rated 5 out of 5 stars

You can save oodles of time configuring FireFox with "Configuration Mania". My add-ons fall into 3 categories, FireFox configuration (how FireFox operates), presentation (FireFox appearance), and functionality. I have 45 extensions installed (thanks to "Extension List Dumper"), and the very first add-on I always install is "Configuration Mania".

"Configuration Mania" will eliminate the time used scrolling through the many FireFox config entries in "about:config" and researching them at "". It also goes beyond the "FireFox -> Edit -> Preferences". "Configuration Mania's" well organized user interface to FireFox config entries reduces the potential for errors, while increasing your knowledge of FireFox. It consistently works and looks nice. The UI has meaningful labels/descriptions, plus there is no need to remember or lookup up a FireFox config entry values (0, 1, 2) because they are there in plain text. Although you may not use "Configuration Mania" everyday, it will reduce the time necessary to change FireFox config entries, while reducing the potential for errors and teaching you something about FireFox in the process. There is no substitute for "Configuration Mania" --- the first add-on I always install.
