All is now working fine. Rated 5 out of 5 stars
In case you read this... I was having the exact same issues and even emailed the author, who responded very quickly, and after working with him, checking my basic Firefox Options settings for cookies... it was found that those Firefox settings had changed via one of the Firefox updates... and that messed up how C.M. function... I found that the Firefox update had changed the cookie settings to Accept all cookies... and that is not what I used to have. I work on the MozillaZine board and have hit on others where their Options changed after updating Firefox. To others who may have problem... check your cookie settings in your Options.
Causes problems with FF 43.0 Rated 5 out of 5 stars
With the new Firefox release and with this extension installed... the basic Firefox search window is essentially dead. If you copy/paste or type something in and hit Enter... nothing happens. If you were to right-click on the window and click on Paste and Search... nothing happens...
All works fine when this extensions is disabled.
I also tried it out in a new/clean profile and had the same profiles. I still give it 5 starts because when it works... it works... thank you Alice
Follow up... just after I posted this it seems that she made the fix... all is well in the Firefox world not... thank you!!!

Yes, this extension on AMO currently breaks a number of basic bookmarking features.
But Frank Lion has a couple of versions of the same extension and they do not break bookmarking.
He has them named Compact Menu3 (two display versions)

I've never had a an issue with this extension... it's one of the best out there. Perhaps you need to go into its Options and set the Global sizing up. All pages will use the same percent-zoom but if you find an individual page that needs adjusting all you have to do is click on the number/% favicon on the addon bar and it will display a menu for adjusting the size.
I would have to say that maybe 2 out of thousands of pages I've visited needed resizing... all others fit perfectly.
