Thunderbird Message Filter Import/Export Enhanced

Rated 2 out of 5 stars

Does not work on Thunderbird 31.1.2. The export process was successful (as far as I can tell), but the import failed (no rules were imported) although it said that it was successful.

That being said, as other commentators have mentioned, the filters rules for any account are simply stored in a file called msgFilterRules.dat, that you can easily find in your TB profile folder. You can just copy that file into your new profile (and maybe you have to restart Thunderbird) and that's it, no extension needed.

Works as advertised, but with one problem: if you navigate within the tab, or if you reload the tab manually, the countdown is NOT reset. This is a big oversight IMO.

Case in point: I set a tab I work in to be reloaded every 15 minutes (to prevent being disconnected after 20 minutes or so). After about 14 minutes, I happen to navigate to a *new* page within the tab and I begin typing a description in a text area. It's an entirely new page, so technically it has just been loaded, and there's no need to reload it one minute later. But since the countdown hasn't been reset, 1 minute later the tab is reloaded and I loose everything I was typing. This has happened to me several times, and in the end I stopped using this extension.

TL;DR: the countdown should restart every time the page is reloaded (either when manually reloading the page or when navigating to a new page within the tab).

Love this add-on and couldn't live without it.
I recently encountered a small bug with ColorZilla and was very pleased to see that the developer was both very responsive and very helpful.

(For those who may experience the same bug :
Description: after using the colorpicker, the cursor remained stuck on crosshair when hovering on various parts of the Firefox UI (mainly the tabs and the main menu).
Solution: in the ColorZilla Options, I changed the statusbar format to something simpler (just %rgb%), restarted Firefox and the bug was gone. I was then able to restore the statusbar format to its previous setting, restarted Firefox again (to be sure) and the bug didn't come back.)

Using FF12 here.

Downloading albums works fine, but this extension seems to break some of facebook features: the right sidebar chat and activity feed are stuck on "loading" (this occurs only on the album pages), and what's worse, the link "see all" (to show more albums by a user in case there are more than 8) doesn't work. So it's now basically impossible to access those albums. (I tried this on a profile which had to new "timeline" look.)

I tried disabling the "hide ads" feature in the add-on options. The activity feed now displays fine, but the chat is still stuck and the "show all" link still doesn't work.

I was really please at how fine it worked to download albums, so I hope those problems will be solved soon.

Screengrab (fix version)

Rated 4 out of 5 stars

Best screenshot add-on available (to my knowledge ^^), but with a minor annoyance: when using the option "Save>Selection", the add-on injects the following CSS rule into the page:

.content {padding: 1em;}

Thus any element present on the page with the class "content" will be altered by this rule, and thus the site will not really look like it should when the screenshot is taken. Depending on the site, the change can be quite dramatic.

I suppose the add-on uses this class for its inner working, but I would suggest using a more unique class name to avoid such unwanted side-effects (eg ".screengrab-content" or such).

As pointed out by the previous comments, this add-ons causes some small bugs with the latest versions of Firefox (7-8). Those bug are mainly related to the url prefix (for instance the prefix appears twice when copying only the beginning of the url). Hope this will get fixed. Other than that, great add-on. :-)

Secure Login

Rated 4 out of 5 stars

Great add-on, but the keyboard shortcut does not seem to be working anymore ?...

@Burfee: "Show passwords" is a Firefox feature and does not depend on this add-on (to my knowledge). Note that it *will* request a password *if* you set up a master password for Firefox (see Options > Security).

Save Image in Folder

Rated 4 out of 5 stars

FYI, seems to be working fine with FF4.

One little problem I ran into: when an image has no real file name defined in the source code (for instance /index.php?view=image&format=raw&type=img&id=48010&option=com_joomgallery&Itemid=202), the add-on doesn't seem to be able to get the correct file name, and opens a "save as" dialog box with the name "unknown.ext" pre-entered. What puzzles me is that Firefox's regular "save image as" action does get the correct file name (and extension). So it would be nice (if possible) if the add-on used the same mechanism as Firefox to get the correct file name in those situations.

Vertical Tabs

very nice start Rated 4 out of 5 stars

It seems (and looks) really nice. All I miss is the ability to put the tabs on the right side of the window. (Mainly. ;-) )

And a few behaviors are missing (IMO) :
- hide in fullscreen mode;
- hide on popup windows (e.g. when composing a new message in a separate window on gmail);
- and tabs opened FROM a group should stay IN the group (seems more logical to me).

So all in all, not as powerful as Tree Style Tab, but at least it works with FF4. :-)

Tree Style Tab

FF4 support? Rated 4 out of 5 stars

Update: it's now working with FF4.0b11!

I loved this add-on on FF3.6, but I can't get it to work on FF4.0b9, although the add-on description states that it supports FF4.0b12pre. Is there some information I missed? (I'm trying to get the tabs displayed to the right side.) As the release date of FF4 gets closer, some information on the subject would be nice. Thanks for the good work anyway!

Dictionary Switcher

great, but room for improvement Rated 3 out of 5 stars

This is a very useful extension, but the "detect dictionary as I type" feature does not really seem to work. Just now, as I'm typing this message, most of the words are marked as "wrong" because it didn't switch to the English dictionary. I don't know if it's possible, but one way to solve this would be to check every few seconds : if most of the words I'm typing are marked as wrong, then the extension should try another dictionary and see if it gets better.

Great extension, but does not work with Tab Mix Plus (if TMP is installed and active, deviantAnywhere will remain stuck in the "Loading..." phase).
