MRU Tabs No Restart

Alters the Ctrl+Tab hotkeys so that they cycle through all tabs in the order of their activation recency, much like the Alt+Tab hotkey does on the operating system level. When the active tab is closed, the most-recently active tab is selected.

PrefBar

Quick page language selection Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Good for quickly change the page language (Accept-Language header) to test the translation of web sites. Nice extensible platform, well done!

This review is for a previous version of the add-on (6.4.0.1-signed).

Classic Theme Restorer (Customize UI)

Great add-on Rated 5 out of 5 stars

It allows me to subtly adjust the theme and cleanly revert the parts of Australis I don't like while keeping the parts I can get used to. (It's good to have the menu in Firefox and Chrome in the same corner. But the old tabs really save space and rounded stuff is always just a temporary trend, has always been. Windows Modern for instance is all rectangular right now and Android has also moved there with 4.0.) The separate window title bar was already available through about:config but now there's a comfortable checkbox for that, too.

Right-click doesn't work anymore! Rated 3 out of 5 stars

I need the right-click to open the context menu. I've done that for years now, and it suddenly stopped working with a recent version. Why was that feature removed?

This review is for a previous version of the add-on (3.8.3.1-signed).  This user has 7 previous reviews of this add-on.

SuperStop

More control, please Rated 2 out of 5 stars

I wasn't aware that Esc had cancelled all network connections as well before. I only used it to stop loading entire pages or halt those annoying GIF animations. I may get used to Shift+Esc instead, but I'd really only want the GIF animation part of it. Could there be a setting for that? Be it in a dialog or hidden in about:config, I don't care.

LastTab

No longer works with Firefox 20 Rated 1 out of 5 stars

It used to be great, but today I discovered that it entirely fails in Firefox 20. Not even the settings dialog shows anything sane. The author doesn't want to be contacted and seems inactive for 2 years. Can anybody recommend a good alternative?

Thunderbird Conversations

Dislike Rated 1 out of 5 stars

It messes up my entire folder view. I couldn't finy my folders anymore, everything was hidden in some grouping tree, sorted by folder name, then account (the wrong way). Then the conversation integration is only halfway. There's a message tree as usual at the top (which does not include my sent mail, which is what I hoped to see), but a totally different message view at the bottom. It just doesn't fit. And it feels slow. ATTENTION: Make a backup of your entire data before trying this! It will not revert the settings it made on installation, even if it says it will. I'm now restoring my folder views, columns selection and so on. This alone qualifies for a zero-star rating.

Disable Add-on Compatibility Checks

Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Very nice, thank you. I've found a lot of news telling that the version check should be disabled since Firefox 10, but that doesn't seem to be the case. A lot of add-ons were incompatible with the silently installed Firefox 11 today, so this add-on came to my rescue.

Firefox-style icon reworked Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Previously I have published a modified copy of this add-on that features an icon in the current Firefox style. Since this always requires updating for new Firefox releases, I have reworked my approach. Just copy this line to your userChrome.css file (just google the file name if you don't know it):

#uctb-toolbar-button { list-style-image: url("uctb-toolbar-button.png") !important; }

Get the image from here: http://unclassified.de/tmp/uctb-toolbar-button.png and copy it in the same directory. Then you can just use the version from this site but have your own icon in the toolbar. You may as well use any other 18 by 18 pixel icon.

Firefox 8/9/10 update Rated 5 out of 5 stars

I have again updated my version to support Firefox up to version 10.* now that 8.0 has come out (I have just upgraded). No functional changes to 3.7.1.2.

Firefox 6 and 7 update Rated 5 out of 5 stars

I have again updated my version to support Firefox up to version 7.* now that 6.0 comes out. I haven't tested it yet though. I'm doing the upgrade within the next days. I've just uploaded it for the impatient of you who have upgraded to Firefox 6 now. :-) No functional changes to 3.7.1.2.

Firefox 5 update Rated 5 out of 5 stars

I have tested and updated my customised version (with the Firefox 4/5-style button) for Firefox 5.*, get it here:

Undo Closed Tabs Button

Rated 5 out of 5 stars

The author has already contacted me via e-mail and asked for a 32x32 icon, but I cannot provide one because Firefox doesn't have such an icon and mine is only based on that one. If somebody wants to try, here's the base icon: http://mxr.mozilla.org/mozilla2.0/source/browser/themes/winstripe/browser/Toolbar.png . The arrow overlay is worked out from I think it was the Oxygen theme, icon name go_jump.png. Good luck!

Since those automatic updates are bugging me, I have modified my version to be 3.7.1.1. Hopefully this won't get overwritten to original 3.7.1 anymore. The current icon just doesn't fit. Here's the new URL: http://unclassified.de/tmp/undoclosedtabsbutton-3.7.1.1.xpi

If you'd like a smaller icon, please try my customised version in an earlier review.

I also know that the options don't work. I've hidden them with a userChrome.css entry:

#uctb-contextentry, /* Geschlossenen Tab wiederherstellen */
#uctb-separator /* Separator before "Geschlossenen Tab wiederherstellen" */
{
display: none;
}

Flow

Rated 2 out of 5 stars

While it may indeed look elegant to have things more compressed, using less space, I do have two concerns:

1. The bold grey fonts just don't look good. They should remain normal-weight and black as they're normally. Also not connecting the active tab header with its content area, but separating them with a border line like inactive tab headers, somewhat contradicts the tab idea. The above screenshot didn't hold true on my system (with an otherwise unmodified Firefox installation).

2. I need to ask where I am supposed to grab the window to move it around! There's virtually no more window area to drag the window. All I found was like 1 pixel height just below the vertical resizing border at the top.

Overall I found that I don't like this add-on.

FF4 with adapted icon is here Rated 5 out of 5 stars

I have updated the add-on manifest to work with Firefox 4.0, I couldn't find any problem with it (testing since like 4.0b10). Additionally, I have fixed a sizing issue with the toolbar icon and have replaced it with a more Firefox-4-like one. Here's the download: < http://unclassified.de/tmp/undoclosedtabsbutton-3.7.1-yg.1.xpi >

The original author didn't respond to my e-mail a couple of weeks ago, notifying him about my changes.

Last Tab Close Button

Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Mushaf, your config option doesn't do anything for me (Firefox 3.6). The button does not appear on the single tab. Tjard, this close button used to be there before 3.5 or something. They removed it. But we want it back. This is one of my most-needed add-ons.

This review is for a previous version of the add-on (0.3.3.1-signed).

Custom Download Manager

One more thing, please Rated 4 out of 5 stars

CDM is a good replacement for Download Manager Tweak which did not support FF3 (and the FF3-compatible update to DMT (see mozillaZine forum) doesn't do much more than this add-on). DMT displayed more info in each download row and used the available space in a tab more effectively, which I liked more. CDM doesn't alter the default download view's appearance at all.

Only one thing: Please add the DMT feature to only open the download manager window/tab if the download takes longer than x milliseconds, e.g. 1000. This avoids popping up the downloads tab for very small files like images from the cache.

This review is for a previous version of the add-on (1.6c).

Firefox Classic

Rated 3 out of 5 stars

Nice idea, but it does not restore the navigation buttons back and forward from Firefox 2, which is what I had most hoped to find.

This review is for a previous version of the add-on (1.3).
