YouTube View More Uploader Videos 184.108.40.206-signed.1-signed Requires Restart
Remember seeing the other videos a user had uploaded in a bar? This script autoreloads the page with an extra parameter that adds a sleek list of uploads (up to 99 videos) from the same uploader. (see screenshot)
About this Add-on
When Youtube redesigned their site, they got rid of one of its most useful features: being able to scroll through all the other videos of the current uploader, so you could keep watching more content from the same provider, one video right after another.
YVMUV works by adding a player option parameter to the video url that unlocks the in-video list UI (also autoplay and shuffle), regaining access to that useful feature again. Even though Youtube turns it on for playlist videos by default, for some lame reason they've hidden it for regular videos.
Works faster by running before the page starts loading rather than after. Chrome support added.
Original userscript works with Firefox but not Chrome.
YVMUV Chrome Extension:
This addon converted, while playing with gm2chrome, to a plugin .crx file that Chrome users can drag 'n drop install to their extensions page. Significantly improved speed compared to userscript.
YVMUV Greasemonkey Userscript:
Works on Firefox and Chrome. The original script source page which was used in converting to this addon.
Technical YVMUV Explanation:
Let's talk about the ability to see more videos on Youtube. Before the new redesign, there was a convenient horizontal strip above the player to view more uploader videos. After the redesign, things still aren't perfect, but the good news is that when things work, they look great.
With the change, Youtube works like this - when a video already belongs to a user-generated playlist, there appears a nice dropdown vertical menu UI with entries listed. The problem is that standard, non-playlisted videos won't trigger the menu and in this new context, appears as orphaned videos.
The trick is to modify the url so it says that the single video is actually in a playlist. Youtube has a site default that says: for a single video, that is alone in a dynamically generated playlist, the playlist will default as a 'More Videos' type populated with more videos from the uploader - triggering the menu UI and listing them as entries.
